I seen that fight, & it was horrible. All I remember was the commentators saying that Del valle was a late replacement, & he was a big puncher. When del Valle landed he KO'd Mckenzie so badly that I remember sitting there worrying about Duke. He was out cold for what seemed like an eternity. Sometimes when I hear him commentate I think of the worry I had for him that night, & it makes you realise just how brutal a sport boxing can be. Im sure I watched some of his wins, but thats the fight that sticks out in my head & I remember the most, cos it shook me up pretty bad, considering the boxing tragedy that happened not long before this fight.
seems to me that if he won titles at 3 different divisions (Fly, Bantam and Super Bantamweight) he was not that bad. btw, Hatton should at least try to do something like that.
I seem to remember some years ago that there was a train crash right at the bottom of where Duke McKenzie was living and he went out to help rescue people from the wreckage. Anybody else remember something along those lines?
