Can't see Duran winning this one at that time and space. He has the skills to pull it off, but at some point, Cuevas would catch him, and I don't think he has the chin to weather it off.It would be a pretty good fight for sixth rounds, but after that, Cuevas catches him, and it overs.Cuevas KO 7 Duran.

I think Duran's under-rated defense allows him to win the fight.

I'd take Duran over Cuevas at any stage of their careers..but it would have been a better fight before Cuevas got his head handed to him by Hearns.

Duran is too all-rounded at any point. In the actual fight, Duran stood toe-to-toe and didn't like Cuevas' body shots. It's in his expression.

So he blinded him with a jab from the outside and followed with the right. Against this simple adjustment, Cuevas had no answer. Great fighters probe for weaknesses. Duran had Cuevas figured out early, and this has little to do with the timing of the fight.

Same result, slightly later with a better Cuevas. Duran's outside game is too much for him.

Try and slug through Duran at welterweight, I dare any fighter.
