Early Stoppage in Cotto Fight

A bit early, but he clearly hadn't recovered in the corner. He didn't have anything to keep Cotto off him

 

Rodriguez melted into the ropes and was defenseless under fire. Hell, the blows Cotto was raining down on his bod nearly put the ref to sleep just brushing against him as he started getting in the way.

 

I didn't see Rodriguez or his corner complaining. They knew Cotto was beating the dog s**t outta him....and it was only gonna get worst.

 

Rodriguez has a sturdy chin, although I did mention in a thread on here in the build-up that even though it was a long time ago he is still the guy that got hurt and stopped by Feliciano, so a knockout by a motivated Cotto was foolish to rule out.

 

It's great to be brave on someone else's behalf.

 

It was a good stoppage...there was no need for him to take anymore damage. He was running scare and i didn't see him making any adjustments to counter Cotto.

 

Fantasy world, winsomest match-ups in their division:

Cotto vs. Maciel
Crawford vs. Shafikov
Klitschko vs. Klitschko

Realistically speaking, from what could get made:

Cotto vs. Charlo
Crawford vs. Figueroa
Klitschko vs. Pulev

 

If the ref let the fight continue he would of been knocked cold seconds later. I think the referee made the right call

 

It was an early stoppage. Delvin shiuld atleast been given a count.

 

I just think it'd be fun.

In keeping with the vein of Crawford vs. Figueroa, the list was more tailored to my tastes as far as what I'd enjoy watching out of plausible match-ups that might actually interest their handlers. (whereas the first list are the ones that would IMO be most pleasing to watch but won't ever be considered :yep)

The other top light middleweights - Boo Boo, Molina, Smith, Vanes, even Canelo - don't really strike me as blending styles with Cotto very well. Likewise at lightweight, Crawford vs. Vazquez or Abril doesn't seem too appealing, nor are we likely to see him in with a Gamboa.
