I like Chambers as a fighter but he can be so painfully frustrating at times with his mental lapses or whatever you want to label the minutes that go by without him doing anything. There were times during the Peter fight in which I just couldn't believe how he was letting the opportunity pass him by as Samuel was there for the taking. The fact that Chambers wouldn't take the initiative combined with the fact that Peter can box a little here and there could have ended up getting Chambers a draw and that would have been bad. Luckily, he did just enough to shade the fight.

I'm afraid the height advantage Dimitrenko has over him combined with the fact that he's gonna be throwing punches will be enough to carry the Ukrainian to victory. Something like 116-112 sounds right although a little more activity from Chambers than we've seen could be just the ticket to make it interesting on the cards. My pick is a Dimitrenko UD.

  2. Yes it was a purse bid for the USBA title. Johnson was already scheduled to fight Terry Smith, and did not want to pull out of that fight. (It was to be fought the day after Johnson-Smith on ESPN FNF). Johnson and Chambers both agreed to fight the next month, but both of their promoters could not agree on a venue.
Thanks for supporting THE FUTURE HW CHAMP KINGPIN KEVIN JOHNSON...........

Dimitrenko has a glass chin. Even chambers has the power to hurt him and ko him. Dimitrenko is another tye fields.

Dimitrenko has a size advantage but Chambers is a faster and more skilled boxer.............I am picking Chambers by decision, as a fighter with Chambers power is obviously is not going to knock anyone out.

Chambers by decision. But Dimitrenko will have his moments.

These are the fights that Wlad and Vitali need to let happen without challenging these guys when they're young.

The problem is that the old guys in the division have already been destroyed by one Klitschko or the other and become pointless to fight and as such, the moment a new contender steps up, they're getting beat which means they seem "green"

Had Chagaev beaten Chambers, Dimitrenko and Povetkin before beating Wlad, you wouldn't have people doubt him so badly, etc.

It's almost like to make the division exciting again, Wlad needs to leave the young contenders alone for a few years, let them build up a resume and then take them down.

I'm picking chambers by UD or Close SD/MD.......I think chambers can win this on workrate alone, and like others have mentioned he is the better skilled boxer.....chambers is the best american heavyweight out there at the moment...

There are only two undefeated HW's from America that I know of. Kevin Johnson and Chris Arreola. The rest have multiple losses or simply disappeared after their first like Brock.

It's not hard being the best American HW at the moment. John Ruiz could probably lay claim to it.

I agree, the american sence looks like **** that the moment, but i do think chambers is vastly underrated, but that doenst mean he can beat a klitschko......but he can beat dimitrenk who is a bit overrated, sure his got a ddefense, but he is just as feather-fisted as chanbers, and has less offensive skills

It's quite funny, America has one of it's lowest points ever in terms of fighters at CW and HW and Europe has arguably it's best ever roster of fighters at that weight class. I wonder why? I guess when you get decisively beaten in the amateurs against Euro fighters, it's hard to remain in the sport.

Brock didn’t actually disappear after his first loss.

He fought couple of times after that, but stopped fighting after getting schooled by Chambers in IBF eliminator.

I heard he suffered some eye injury in Chambers match.
