Nonetheless, Eddie was there to save Joe yet again when facing Foreman a second time, from the ignominy of a third knockdown and automatic stoppage. Frazier has indeed saved a certain measure of face, as we instead only have Padilla's word for it that he would have allowed Smoke around 45 more seconds of action before ending it himself.

Get back to me when anything I did is comparable to you making fun of the dead in the same thread one of their relatives posts in.

It was ignorant and disrespectful without that happening and ten times more so because of it.

Oh, I didn't rekindle jack ****, YOU made a post THREE MONTHS after the thread and the entire thing died down with a **** ant jab.

Here's some substance grounded in reality, for which you so lovingly call bull**** on constantly. From a BOOK on Jack Dempsey. The Life of Jack Dempsey.

When Dempsey met his first wife Maxine, she was working as
A prostitute. It was rumored that Dempsey acted as her pimp when they were low on money.

    http://www.funtrivia.com/en/Sports/Jack-Dempsey-18984.html

From ANOTHER book on Jack Dempsey, A Flame of Pure Fire: Jack Dempsey and the Roaring '20s.

"What was in those letters, anyway? the reporters wondered. White-Slave stuff? Had he peddled his own wife's body? Or was the material even more noxious, hints that Dempsey had worked in brothels as a professional ****** , forcibly deflowering virgins for a fee? These were not trial issues, but jurors vote with their hearts as well as their heads. "

There will be no retraction because there is SUBSTANCE behind those claims, published in multiple, well reviewed and respected books.

I never claimed or IMAGINED anything Dempsey related, all were mentioned, not CLAIMED AS FACT by myself when I brought them up, having heard them previously.

You're an ignorant man sometimes, mcvey. There is knowledge you're blindly naive to, while claiming to know all the facts yourself.

I'm looking forward to hearing you dismiss the work of noted historians and men who have spent years researching Jack Dempsey's life.

You have a ****ing problem next time with the stories about Dempsey's life prior to boxing, you take it up with the historians and not me.

I have a problem with you, because you repeated this ****,and when challenged on it ,you said,"I wasnt the one who first mentioned it."
Dempsey was cleared of all charges regarding his life with Maxine, as recently as last year The Ring ran an article about it which a couple of posters mentioned on here, you did not respond to them, and now, like the little weasel you are ,you duck out of any responsibility for posting the lies you did.

When you post an allegation, proof is needed to back it up ,you have never provided proof ,you just repeated bull**** you heard.

You are a---- , well let's not go there.
I am getting on in years ,but my son would like to meet you Mr
Muscles, he fights in the cage once a month, and also extra curricular, fancy it? PM me, if you do and we can sort it
.Meet half way one on one.

Proof = Books by noted Dempsey researchers and historians.

McVey's reaction - "You little rascal weasel! God dang it you're ducking everything! Back in my day we could keep regurgitating the same "no proof" **** even when several outside sources are brought up!"

I'd hate to meet your son, McVey!

He might start crying like his dear old father after he gets hit, I mean look at you and your rage fits when you're just being verbally sparred with on the internet.

Grow the **** up you tosser, its an Internet disagreement and you're a real hypocrite to cite my "immaturity" when you're picking fights on the internet. I'm glad you have your son around to beat up people that disagree with you though. :good:hi::hi:

As a Dempsey fan, I quite like the dark side stories of his background. Who knows what life was like for the young Dempsey in his desperate hobo days ?

Please provide the name of the "noted researcher and historian " who wrote "The Life Of Jack Dempsey".
Roger Kahn wrote" A Flame Of Pure Fire", he is a well respected writer ,on baseball.

The lurid tales you posted on here were discussed in a Ring magazine a year ago and Dempsey was given a complete pardon from them by the authorities, something you did not mention..
You initiated the personal insults, I responded.
My boxing resume is not world class, but enough to prove I never reacted adversely to getting hit,Insulting people from behind a pc is safe enough I suppose, how are you when you are nose to nose?

If you want to meet an old fart and discuss this personally, pm me Narcissus.

Tenuous link I know but the book was mentioned above, found this on Roger Kahns Wiki page

'His acclaimed biography of the great heavyweight boxing champion Jack Dempsey, A Flame of Pure Fire, is under development as a major motion picture by 33 Productions of San Francisco'

Mcvey, are you sure it was a pardon as that is forgiveness of wrong acts, not a statement that those acts weren't commited. Also a word to the wise, this is getting way out of hand and you should know this as a father.

My use of the word pardon is probably wrong ,Dempsey was absolved of any wrong doing, that is a matter of public record,So you are right ,and I chose the wrong word.:good
I overeacted to Russe'ls verbal abuse, I had just come back from an all day Jazz Festival and had drink taken.
I don't use words to people on a forum that I wouldn't use face to face, and win or lose I am prepared to back them up ,physically if needs be.
Posters who put up photos of themselves stripped to the waist ,posing self admiringly do not garner my respect, and merit even less when they throw out abuse from the safety of their home.
    END OF.

I think Dempsey did worse things than he's accused of in his desperate days.
Hobo jungles and wild west mining town saloons, and brothels in 1910s America were rough amoral environments, surely. I'd like to think so, anyway.

    I love Dempsey.
It's all myth and legend, I know.
But I prefer to think he was a rough tough savvy survivor, who didn't give a **** about rules of polite society of which he was then not a part of.
I have no wish to impose our soft modern morals on the peoples of that time and place.
