Telling anyone who’ll listen how bad the Khan Brook figures were but nobody dares question how many subscribers DAZN has or how DAZN lost over a billion in its first accounts. Get this nob out of boxing ffs.
Funny if Conor Benn left him to fight Brook, wouldn’t be shocked at all if Andrade ended up leaving him either
Eddie doesn't see it and won't ever admit it but he has become noticeably bitter over the last year and a half. He's gone embarrassingly overdrive into sales mode when talking about the likes of that absolute whopper Conor Benn and his own DAZN platform. He's always done this but he's constantly talking down other promoters/fighters/TV companies to the point where it looks like no one really wants to work with him. Arrogancy in most cases, will always be someone's downfall in life. I don't know about anyone else but I'm quite enjoying the Sky shows at the moment. Edit: Just as I wrote that, I read about the Canelo deal with DAZN/Matchroom. So it looks like someone does want to work with him haha.
I actually think he was let down by DAZN regarding the whole PPV saga. There is no way hearn would have claimed PPV won't be a model used on DAZN without the blessing from his bosses. DAZN changing there boxing model threw hearn under the bus regarding PPV. No Eddie will be the one making Kell an offer to fight Benn.
Very true. Hearn is charismatic and socially canny but I don't think he's all that bright: "People said AJ has been wrapped in cotton wool but it's not true: we put him in with Charles Martin when everyone said it was too soon" "Derek Chisora is Fury's third best win. Steve Cunningham was a cruiserweight and he was finished..." (forgetting that his cash cow hypejob was recently schooled and battered by a mid 30's cruiserweight in said hypejob's backyard)
That vid where he was telling koogs "I'm the best in my chosen field, how amazing is that, and telling 'koogs' hes potentially the best in his chosen field was soooooo cringe to watch. Then I remembered why I dont do ifl anymore. I didnt think it was real at first, but sadly, of course it was!
Aye I’m liking the Sky stuff. Good to watch boxing without Hearn sticking his face in front of the camera after every single fight. Even Dave Coldwell came across alright last week.
After weeks of slagging Khan Brook, Hearn now said last night if he promoted it, it would have been on DAZN PPV.
Why not? Both were cruiserweight champions, both were in their mid-30's. Usyk is better than Cunningham but logically, being a cruiserweight in your mid-30's doesn't make you worse than Chisora or Whyte. It was ironic that Hearn was so dismissive of the cruiserweight division when his cash cow had just been schooled by one at home.
