As far as promoters go, I tend to like Hearn and think he's overly hated, but there's no defending what's taking place with Beterbiev Bivol. But you know, if these fighters demanded the fight, it would happen, so I hold them complicit as well. But yes Hearn (and Arum) are screwing the sport here.
Has there been any effort from Beterbiev’s side to make the Bivol fight? They don’t seem that eager to me.
How is is "shocking behaviour" for a promoter of a fighter, who has the mandatory position, to push for getting that fight? If you've a problem with it, then blame the sanctioning bodies. He can do what he wants. As can fans. There is going to be an inevitable backlash. Your comment may have an element of truth to it but it's as useful as what you think the OPs is. Also, this doesn't occur in a vacuum. Hearn has plenty to say when the shoe is on the other foot.
What?? Is Hearn really a promoter (business owner) that want to make the most money for himself, wow, who could of guessed… I agree, I want to see AB vs DB also but in the end, boxing is a business. Hearn gets a bad rep but he gives us a lot of fights that we want to see and it’s not always his fault that fights can’t be made because other fighters have other promoters that don’t want to corporate.
This just reminds me of Kovalev / Stevenson situation tbh. Shame the fight never happened. We deserve Beterbiev vs Bivol, but likely won't happen, unless someone's contract ends soon.
Hearn was willing to let Haney go so he could become undisputed if anyone is blocking this its old ass crook Arum hes the one saying its either on ESPN or the fight doesnt happen. Ive seen Hearn putting pride aside in order for fights to happen but i never seen Arum doing it .
Beterbiev and Bivol have both had 4 fights since 2020. Beterbiev is coming back from surgery iirc. Beterbiev has managed to get 3 World titles since 2017,Bivol has managed to get 1 World title since 2017. Beterbiev has had 19 fights since his debut in 2013,Bivol has had 21 fights since his debut in 2014. Yet you blame Beterbiev ! Beterbiev and Bivol will both want to fight each other however it seems that Hearn has other ideas .
You mean apart from Beterbiev saying he wants the Bivol fight in front of millions on TV the other night? Oh and his promoters saying they're willing to making the fight happen too? This content is protected Beterbiev is the one unifying and fighting his mandatories. Remind me how many belts he has please. Bivol is the one who only has ONE mandatory defence is 8 fights, ZERO unification fights and is now wanting to go down in weight to beat someone he already beat.
