All Hearn has to do is offer % splits. That's all. That is so much easier to barter with between two sides. But he hasn't and likely won't, because that's his trick. He offers down a flat fee which objectivity looks like a lot so plenty of people will say "wow that's loads more than X got for Z" and they'd be right. However, the flat fee absolutely does not take into context what the fight is likely to generate. Thus to save any real arguments between folk, a % split is absolutely the fair way to do things. Having offered what he has offered as a flat fee (and then saying it's a take it or leave it offer), he manages to offer something that A) he knows will be rejected B) will look generous to casuals (his market) and C) shows he "tried really hard to make it Koogs, but Wilder didn't want it. We're looking at Haye next Spring and then possibly AJ-Whyte VI in the autumn" I would LOVE Wilder to accept and call his bluff. There will be a new issue found at that stage, no doubt.
The sneaky little ****er chooses his words so carefully that he hasn't actually lied. he said he HOPED it would earn 100m, then says a CONSERVATIVE budget is $40m. $40m is a conservative budget, if you're bottoming it out as much as you possibly can. I reckon it could touch 2m PPV buys in the UK, which is 39.9m if Sky make it £19.95. So he knows he's talking bollocks, but he's doing it in a way that he isn't actually lying. He should give up boxing and become a politician tbh
Eddie Hearn runs boxing. Eddie Hearn is the Daddy. And lol at the keyboard warriors and cyber cowards who only talk tough online. Hearn is 6'6", 225lbs of ripped lean muscle and a former boxer himself. He'd spark every single one of you old cold with those long levers of his if he was wearing casual clothing, if not he'd just set AJ, Special K and Scott Quigg onto you.
Actually if you look at what you posted he definitely did what he said which is double, triple, quadruple Wilders payday. Hearn knows what he's saying. Saying he hopes it will make $100M is just that, hope. Reality could be very different.
Mike Tyson was a proven world wide mega star; Deontay Wilder is not even a PPV fighter in his own country. Wilder fans need to accept the fact that for a Heavyweight Champion if the World he is strictly small time.
Wilder's inability to even be a PPV fighter in the States is why US earnings are very limited. Does Joshua have to do everything?
