Hearn... told The Daily Telegraph: "We want to keep Carl on Sky Box Office in the UK..." for me that means he wants froch to be only involved in big special fights. If he can do that then they are PPV worthy. If he cant get the right opponents then froch fights on sky sports.
so instead of coming up with the sky numbers for froch and khan you use twitter followers.. good grief!! atsch
I stand by what I said, he's not box office in my opinion and one of my reasons for this is because in his biggest fight by miles, super 6 final/proper unification bout/ring magazine belt included, was on sky sports 1. Why should we pay £15 for the same fight less than 2 years later? As for Sky not being interested in Khan, hes coming off back to back defeats pretty much yet still Eddie Hearn did all he could to get him back on Sky, he said so in an ifilm interview before the Diaz bout. Im not knocking Froch, I bought his last fight, but its a joke we have to pay £15 to watch him. Hes not even number 1 in the division.
Well said mate, completley agree. All proper boxing fans, surely that is all us on this forum, want to see world title fights especially in this country, live. Not 'dont buy it', problem solved - thats a dickhead comment quite frankly.
We've had this discussion before havent we, you must be a promoter/rat or maybe a wannabe eddie Hearn lover to go with that opinion? I dont know what your occupation is, Im sure your very talented and respected in your chosen field, but if you really think I dont understand how the boxing business works then lets move on to something else. How ignorant are you to think that any of the posters on here do not understand the concept of how boxing business works. For the record Im a fan and I subscribe to sky sports and boxnation every month so I want the top fights made and I don't want to pay extra to see them. Who in their right mind would? Your theory must be something like, 'so Froch beat Bute so now obviously we should all shell out 15 notes to watch him fight?' Unless your on Frochs payroll, and I hope for your sake you are then at least you would be getting something for/and I can then understand your promoter/rat opinion, you must be a proper sad loser. Go and add Eddie Hearn on facebook.
The fact you don't realise why Carl Froch is a PPV fighter now says everything I need to know about your understanding of how business works. You are utterly clueless.
Spend 15 quid watch the fight PROBLEM SOLVED 15 quid is a bag of bollacks n this day and age it cost 80 quid to fill up a car Stop being a tight ass
I think we should agree to disagree. We aren't getting anywhere here are we? From a 'business perspective' (I do get it you see!) don't you find it odd that the PPV figures for the Kessler fight have not been announced? Seems a bit weird, no? Maybe the fact that it didn't sell (at all) as most people screwed their faces up when they heard and said I'm not paying £15 to watch Carl Froch. If his profile and abiliity was on a par with Naz, Ricky Hatton or Lennox, even Calzaghe then I could understand why the fight was on box office, but it isn't on both counts. For the record I bought it anyway, because I am a boxing fan, unlike you who isn't just a boxing fan, your a sad wannabe who thinks he knows boxing business. Wake up dickhead, we all know the game, just some of us aren't particularly happy at paying £15 for Carl Froch because it should have been on normal sky sports.
The fact you seemingly think that Carl Froch pre the Andre Ward fight was the same Carl Froch post the Bute fight in terms of recognition, reputation and appreciation is mind-boggling.
Mind boggling? Really? Are you one of Frochs brothers or something? That fight was directly afterwards and just 6 months in time. He hardly beat an ATG did he? As someone stated on this thread earlier Carl has a much smaller profile even now after coming off the biggest win of his career compared to someone like Khan who currently is not even ranked in the top 5 of his division and is going through the least successful part of his pro career.
Sometimes I love Eddie, he sounds refreshing and modern. Other times theres a nasty undertone which is geared towards con jobs and money making. It's too be expected. Boxing is a business first, entertainment second, sport third. Boxing needs some genuine universal governing in a similar form to FIFA. It won't be flawless but, at the very least, beyond the money there will be a competative architecture that ensures you get bang for your buck.
