Edison Miranda's power is overstated, Ward's is understated!

Damn dude, you act like Miranda is just a cave man, who only throws a wild right that kills. Dude can fight, and I'm bettin' he takes Ward out (possibly trailing on the cards at the time, I'd admit) in 5 or 6 rounds.

    David Banks style. :yep

I'm not sure what'll happen. I've been trying to figure out who will win since yesterday. For every positive for one fighter, there's an equally glaring negative. There are so many unknowns about Ward that make it difficult to confidently pick him, on the OTHER side there are so many things we KNOW about Miranda that makes it hard to pick him.

I'm going to suggest a decision win A LOT closer than it should be for Ward. I think he'll sweep the earlier rounds but come around round 6, Miranda will put a little rally together. Ward will do enough to win the later rounds but it'll be a close. I'll say 8-4 for Ward.

fine analysis, sir. In fact, TBH, IF Miranda does NOT KO Ward in the Mid-rounds, I'd say you've nailed it.:yep

People get confused when they talk about punching power. The KO punch is almost always the one the fighter doesn't see coming. Not the hardest punch. Speed, timing, and accuracy are more important than raw power. That's why guys like SRL, RJJ, and Ali had spectactular KO's in their prime. There was a huge dropoff in KO's later in their careers when they lost some of their speed, affecting their timing & accuracy as well. Ward has great speed, timing, and accuracy, but not a lot of power. Miranda has great power without speed, timing, & accuracy.

Unless Ward screws up, it's very unlikely Miranda will hit him with anything he doesn't see coming, whereas Pantera won't know what hit him a lot of the time. Ward ahs been down before and hurt on other occasions against subpar opposition, so Edison definitely has a puncher's chance. But, there is a reason why you never here about a "boxer's chance". In a Boxer-Slugger matchup, the boxer has a huge advantage.

I know what you mean. I don't remember ever seeing Ward so I need to see him in at least one fight to decide, so I'll make my pick tomorrow after I get a chance to see him at work.

Let's see what this self proclaimed expert has to say about his pronouncement now. I guess we wont see him back in this thread, not that we will miss him. I don't suppose anyone can show me where anyone else has agreed with his self proclaimed expert status have they?:-(
