He actually only took up boxing at 23, 24, after graduating from college. He's 30 now, so has been fighting for 6 or 7 years.

I think Seth is getting better each time he fights, hopefully if he can develop his head movement, which is improving, hopefully he can be a handful.

I definitely think he needs to move his head more, especially when hes moving in. But im no boxing expert, just by observing this is my opinion, im sure hes working hard on his defense.

I think you will see a vast improvement in this fight against Banks

    :good

And people **** on his overall ability, when he's obviously working harder than most, if not all heavyweights today aside from the Klitschko brothers.

Seth Mitchell, I'll always be a fan of.

Closer to hype job than real deal. Decent power, physical skills and stamina, and he's as athletic as any heavyweight out there, but he got a late start in boxing and he's too straightforward to beat the best guys out there. Also, only an average chin, and not particularly great reach. IMO, he's a step down from Jennings and about on the same level as US HW prospects like Hamer and Hanks, but he gets more attention due to his Golden Boy affiliation. Best recent comp, IMO, is Lateef Kayode. He could still be a contender for a while, but he's no threat to the top dogs, and I think he'd even struggle with a guy like Chagaev. While I don't love Banks and think he doesn't throw nearly enough punches, Banks is a live dog here. He's a better boxer without Mitchell's physical gifts.

Edit: he's also a hard worker with a good ethic, but slow to pick up new tricks and seems to have below average ring intelligence. In terms of former football players trying to convert to boxing, I have more hope for Dominic Brazaele, who is very raw but seems to pick things up quickly. Of course, as with any guy who just want pro, his chin and ability to build stamina have yet to be determined, and he's not a natural boxer either.

Not quite sure why the guy is being called a hype job, i have not come across one claim he would beat a Klitschko or anything stupid like that. He's popular because he works hard, brings excitement and carries himself like a gentleman, does that constitute as a hype job???

Sorry. I actually saw the fight but for some reason remembered the wobble as a glove touch canvas down. Anyway the fellow with the famous actress name wobbled him big time and wasn't a sweat pea either.

Had he started out young in the amateurs he would have probably been a force to be reckoned with. Key phrase being "would have"...

Well stated my friend. This guy has real heavy weight power and real warrior heart. I am very excited to see how his career unfolds.

I'm not sure, I like this guy but he looks good against nobodies. I'm afraid I saw this scenario before. Can he use footwork against top boxers?

Some time ago I really like Seth but meanwhile some other former college football players proved me they can't be fighters.

In about 1 hour and 20 minutes. I'm waiting too! More for Mitchell.

This is the most interesting thing about watching any Mitchell bout: Seeing if his defense has improved since his last fight.

    It had better, and soon.

Thank you. I suspect they won't show the fight at the start of the broadcast, so I'm safe if I sleep for two hours, right?

No. The broadcast starts at 10pm EST. (not 9 pm)

No idea how many undercards they have, but I would imagine the main event will start around 11 pm. Maybe Mitchell-Banks is the only undercard, and will start at 10?
