Well he never trashed the family name or was widely known as a junkie so the odds are he was a good lad in his 20s
After saturday eddie will have tpped anything his daddy has ever done. thats a bigger success in 5 years that his dads done in 40. I take my hat off
Eddie's a good guy. What father wouldn't want the best for their son? And like most have said already, eddie is carrying on the good work and putting british boxing firmly back on the map. Ask james degale who the best promoters are in a years time, because he is a perfect example of a talented fighter who was doing **** all since he fought groves. Now he is with eddie his career will progress. Just hope eubank jr does the same.
De gale was excellently promoted by FW it wasn't FW who lost to GG was it, had he won that fight he'd have fought for a world title by now. He must shoulder much of the responsibility
W arren did what he could with Degale but his persona and in the ring performances had a detrimental effect on his progression, this trend continued with Mick. Its only Hearns money which has got Degale his mandatory shot.
The show on Saturday is made up of fighters nicked from other promoters. Other promoters have spent time and money developing these fighters. DeGale would have got a title shot this year with Mick. Eddie helps himself to fighters for his own gain. What happens when these fighters become worthless? Eddie sets about pinching others.
I'm intrigued to know how R Duran knows exactly what goes into promoting and what Matchroom/ Eddie does. As far as I can tell from his posts he is an office worker with a 6 inch member, so I'd have to say he knows nothing more than anyone else. As for anyone else who has any criticism, before you can be taken seriously, which other promoter in British boxing would you prefer? It seems to me many of you are basing your opinions on Eddie the same way you may do a fighter, on their personality, rather than facts. On the other hand, a lot of people say he is the saviour of British boxing, which is equally incorrect. The efforts made in reorganising our amatuer system about 6 years ago are to thank for the resurgence in talent, not Hearn. At the end of the day though, fighters are flocking to Hearn, not because he is stealing them, but because he is continually getting fights, eliminators, world title shots and the best exposure for his fighters. DeGale Was fighting at a shopping centre in front of a couple of hundred people, some times not even on TV, first fight with Hearn is at Wembley in front of 80000. You telling me that isn't good for a fighter or his motivation? Just one example, I could go on. Whether that is to do with family name, Sky deal, whatever, is irrelevant, he is the best man for the job and you cannot argue with that.
He isnt the only one in this respect, other forum members such as Ryan the lion, Dragon Punch and Gmurphy all seem to have inside knowledge on the deals he makes/offers. Strange that Eddie allows them around his negotiating table when all they do is log on to disect them.
Golden boy > Matchroom Mayweather promotions > Matchroom Top Rank > Matchroom K2 > Matchroom Saureland > Matchroom :hi:
How awful, I had no idea people got hurt or there was casualties in this sport, perhaps we should start watching golf? Honestly, one of THE most stupid and naive comments I have ever seen. Boxing is a business. Eddie doesn't come in the night and steal fighters from Hennesseys nursery or Hattons play room. THEY choose to leave, to better THEIR own positions. If they become "worthless", it's on them, they left, it's a business decision. Also, name how many fighters have only ever had one promoter?? So are they all "nicked"? I would have normally ignored such a stupid comment but the fact you genuinely think you know what your talking about made it impossible. I get your screen name now anyway. It's meant to be ironic isn't it? Very funny.
