First of all, Valero wasnt facing a death penalty Venezuela laws only allow a 30 years sentence in the worst case. Former major league pitcher Julio Machado shot a woman to death in 1992 and his MLB career ended, but he only served eight years and was able to resume his winter ball career in his country after leaving jail. Former MLB all-star relief pitcher Ugueth Urbina killed an employee in 1995 and he's now in the 5th year of a 14 yrs sentence, he'll surely never get to wear a professional baseball uniform again. Valero would have got between 7 an 12 years in jail, but that would have been enough to end his career anyway, since he was not that young. No way he was going to get away with murdering his wife no matter what kind of friendship he shared with Chavez.
After what that ****er did to those kids mother it really is for the best that hes dead. He would never have been a father to them again and they're better off knowing the guy that put there mother to an early grave is dead too, I hope he suffered the ****in scumbag.
who gives a flying ****? IF the guards killed that ****er they deserve a medal for doing human decency a favor but for ****s sake people. . he KILLED HIS WIFE. . lets not pretend there is no motive there for him to off himself
A sad and tragic end to a man with infinite potential, all we can do is wonder what might have been. I will however leave it up to god to judge him. My thoughts and condolences go out to his and his wifes family.
I agree, there are a lot of kids in jail that should have gotten a 2nd chance. One of the negative effects is people should have a 2nd chance no matter what the crime is anyone can make a mistake. Familys without fathers is not a good thing for society. I think there are too many life without parole sentences with no 2nd chances...bad thing
Would you think someone who murders your mother deserves a second chance? Don't fool yourself mate. It's not "a mistake", it's murder. Anyone can make a mistake, but were not talking about taking a wrong turn at the highway. Families with murderers as role models aren't exactly good either so **** that.
This whole story is sad but you can't really be sympathetic to a murderer who knew what he was doing.
And the world is a better place without him. Whether he hanged himself or he was hanged doesn't really matter. He wont be able to kill any more innocent people and he wont make his country look bad. That is what matters.
