Jesus Christ man! Wow what a terribly pathetic human being. The guy is beyond mentally damaged. Damn man his wife was so young and beautiful -- beauty dont mater a human being died for no reason (excuse me for the beautiful remark, I can't help but notice that she was). And what will happen to his kids? They will grow up without there mother! Hate crap like this. Forget his boxing career!

This guy is worst than Monzon. :verysad

Valero is definately mental. He has a long history of alchohol abuse and violence. There's stories of him beating up some of his boxer friends, his mom, his sister, and of course his wife. There's also a ton of alchohol related transgressions. After he killed his wife, he went to the hotel desk and admitted to it. The guy is mentally unstable. He should never be locked up for the rest of his natural life.

Without the psychotic mentallity driving force behind him he most likely wouldn't have had a successful boxing career though, would he?

We expect people who get in a ring and beat the **** out of each other starting for peanuts to be sane. Then when they turn out not to be sane we have an issue with it.

I don't side with what he did or anything, but it's not like it was unexpected. Dude is bat**** crazy-cakes, what the hell should we expect. Civility from guy's who make it on there aggression in the first place?

Wasted talented?...Waste of ****ing air more like it.
He shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near a boxing ring after the beatings he had "allegedly" given to his wife and his family.

They should have locked him up and threw away the key before he could get his hands on this young woman.

This thread reminds me of A Bronx Tale with De Niro always telling his son that the "Worst thing in life is wasted talent."

Getting hit in the head a couple hundred thousand times probably doesn't help.

This is sad, tragic news. The loss of a life and the end of a potentially great boxing career. Edwin Valero has been battling alcoholism and apparent mental instability for some time now. In no way, can that be made as an excuse for this awful act. I don't know the facts, but from what has been reported, Valero admitted to the crime. I am sad for everyone envolved here, especially the young children.

Edwin Valero was one of my favorite current fighters. His downfall is quite sad, though not nearly as sad as the murder of his wife. This situation reminds me of another waste of talent in Ike Ibeabuchi. Some guys are great in the ring, but just don't have what it takes to function outside of the sweet science.
