You don't know what you are on about. Merchant routinely boys up legends in the game such as Steward, Lewis and Foreman.

I think it's the constant repeating of the same point that annoys people about Atlas . He's gotta fight bigger' , 'He should be fighting bigger' , 'if X was fighting this fight tall' , 'He should use his advantage and fight tall'
Note that all of that will be said in the course of one round , he will then repeat this for 12 .

Out of American commentators Al Bernstein and the blow by blow commentator for Showtime are the best in my view .

Still can't be Ian Darke and Jim Watt though ;) .

    ANYBODY.

Al Bernstein or Steve Farhood would be the best choices - both qualified boxing journalists who know the sport inside and out.

I'd even take O'Grady before Kellerman, and that's saying something!

I agree, I would take ANYONE over that joke Kellerman and that includes hacks like O'Grady or a nutcase like Atlas.

Yeah, he does talk ****ing slow sometimes. The speed of his speech isn't indictive of if he is right or wrong.

Atlas is the WORST boxing commentator of ALL TIME. He is freaking terrible. He makes Fran Charles look like Howard Cosell.

I like Kellerman, he honestly loves the sport, his knowledge is much much better than what you guys give him credit for, and his enthusiasm for the sport is much needed. Merchant has become a crumudgeon as of late, same with Atlas.. I mean **** at times I swear you see Tessitore rolling his eyes at the crap that Teddy says, and you know he wants to punch him when he repeats the same damn thing 100 times in a round. Just call the damn fight already. Teddy can't let his "trainer" mentality stay put, he's gotta act like he's the best trainer ever, and he knows exactly what should be done.. but he wasn't a great trainer.. that's why he's doing what he's doing.

The same knowledge that said Glass Jaw Roy Jones would beat Joe Frazier? Or the same knowledge that said Zab Judah would be an all time great? Do I need to keep on going here? The guy is a joke plain and simple, and he is where he is today because of his family and nothing else. There are at least 25 other guys more qualified than that nuthugger Kellerman.

Pu-leez. What did Kellerman DO before Cayton handed him that ESPN gig?? Answer - the punk hosted some rinky-dink cable access show in NY. That's IT, that's the extent of his "training" for these positions. And it SHOWS.

The twerp is utterly unqualified. HBO needs a seasoned commentator like Bernstein who's paid his dues as a boxing journalist and consequently actually KNOWS something about the sport.:yep

Dudes, I explained this once before and got no response, so I'll do this one more time.

I missed the fight, I was at a party and they didn't have HBO. My old man calls me to see if I saw the fight, and I said "No, but don't tell me what happened cause I'll probably see it on HBO 2 or 3 tomorrow morning." He replies saying "Well, all I have to say is that Kellerman sucks. He is an idiot. A complete and total idiot. He sucks." I was just like okay.
I'm watching the fight in a couple hourse, but what the hell happened?

How is it better? He's wrong with his fight picks and analysis more often than your average poster on ESB, much less someone who is paid a hefty salary by a major TV network. Kellerman is a joke

Being wrong with fights picks don't mean ****. ****, look at the betting lines, and the guys on ESB. You can't always predict the fight.

I'm not even talking about predictions, I'm just saying the guy knows a lot more about the sport than you guys give him credit for.

Not sure what it's so in fad to be hating Kellerman.

Because he's UNQUALIFIED. Name me one other boxing commentator that has NEVER worked as a boxing journalist or been a former participant in professional boxing. You can't. Kellerman got his job because his family had CONNECTIONS with Bill Cayton, he did nothing to earn it or to acquire experience, and it SHOWS.

And for the record, I've hated Kellerman ever since they sacked the best commentator in the sport, Al Bernstein to put put this unqualified punk on ESPN. Get RID of this poser, he's hurting the sport!! :happy

    Send in those emails, guys......

What does he know about the sport? Watching a bunch of old fights and knowing a lot about the history of boxing doesn't mean you have a good understanding. Kellerman knows a lot about boxing history but knows very little about boxing
