You quoted me before i got a chance to edit...

Yeah, i think it would be an exciting fight. Miranda's is still a decent fighter, probably a little under rated at this point. He still beat Green and gave AA tonnes of trouble.

So, was Dawson 'exposed' or was it the posters that thought he was flawless that were 'exposed'?:think Kinda puts ESB's favorite word into a new light.:yep

When Dawson boxed from a distance and used his boxing skills he made Johnson look silly, he won that fight but he made it closer than it should of been by going toe to toe with a guy who you shouldn't do that with, Dawson wanted to make a statement and knock him out, bad idea. I hope there is a rematch, i'm sure Dawson has realised his mistake and he would win every round. I like that everyone is trashing him at the moment, when he fights a big name and dominates he's gonna get alot of credit and make some people around here look pretty foolish.

Personally, I got carried away in my enthusiasm for him. I overrated him quite a lot. :?

    Bull****.

Hopkins is clearly the top dog until proven otherwise.

You seriously need to share the drugs, bro.

I actually thought more of dawson from the fact he got hurt and came back. Thats championship material right there. Plus, he has the best right hook I have ever seen a southpaw throw, and that weapon right there is going to be key for him beating calzaghe which I think he will. and yes glenn johnson has a chin of steel. I think chad will definetly become p4p number 1.

On a side note, Hopkins is not a good matchup for Dawson at all right now. His defense is shaky, his inside game needs polishing, and he's a lefty. Plus he's a boxer not a brawler, and he would really have no option but to box with Bernard on the outside. I'd take the old man in a heartbeat if that fight happened this year, which of course it won't.

That aside though, Dawson has huge potential. These Lacy comparisions are overlooking just how many light years Chad is ahead of Jeff in terms of footwork and presence of mind, just to name two areas.

Great post! He did indeed try and prove a point and wanted to stop Johnson which was a terrible idea. Anyone that follows boxing knows that Johnson has one of the best chins in the business. I picked Dawson by wide UD because I felt he would box more instead of slugging it out. If he had boxed more he probably would have won every round because Johnson had no answer for it when he did.

You could have worse for a lost avatar Pimp. I thought it was a test pattern for a second before it sunk in. :yep

I cringed every time Dawson stepped inside with that left hand around his waist. His heart was commendable, but man was it an easier fight when he just stuck and moved.

Yeah it could be worse but Relentless took it easy on me.
Yeah Chad made the fight alot harder than it needed to be. I guess it's just young bravado, thinking you're indestructable but I'm sure he learned a hard lesson from this.

    Exactly!

Despite outrageous claims from ridiculous fanboys like Amsterdam, there is one man who is the undisputed to dog at 175 and that man is Bernard Hopkins.

Hopkins would beat Dawson down mercilessly, much like he is going to do against Calzaghe in less than a week.

Well for the record, I don't think Amsterdam qualifies as an outrageous fanboy. I know he's got better reasons than that for picking Joe.

As of 4/14 however, I'm with you on picking Hopkins, but it's going to be a very, very nip and tuck fight. But it's hard to get real worked up about a pick you see as a likely SD, or even a draw.

Still, only on ESB does (loss=exposed) and now (win=exposed). Why bother?

I don't think like that. But it is on the basis of a fighter's last performances that one can best judge his likely progress, after taking any attenuating circumstances into account. His best performance was against Adamek, whom he caught on a bad day too. More recently, he didn't look that great against Mendoza, and I put that to the fact that he didn't think much of his opponent. Now, he lost (according to most analysts) to Johnson and did very well not to get dropped. So, on the basis of these two performances, would you say he should be considered a top p4p prospect, particularly given his chin and decision-making? I don't think anyone exposed anything, but I have had my enthusiasm for him tempered.
