Luckily Calzaghe wouldn't be able to expose it. Seriously he is a good fighter but isn't great. Andre ward isn't great either but from the looks from it he will exceed all expectations that was set on him after captuirng the gold.

In a coke-sniffing contest, I'd wager you're right. But it would only be by forfeit.

Ward isn't even peaked yet. He beat kessler when he was so young, that's very impressive and the hopkins vs calzaghe fight is a good indication in to how ward vs calzaghe would of went. Calzaghe got put on his arse by old hopkins and hopkins was able to neutralize some of that work rate. A think a prime hopkins would of beat calzaghe and i think a guy like ward who still getting better would of been the perfect guy to beat joe. He would of sat on joe's chest and made it ugly, fight him so close up and grind a win out and made joe not be able to work. Ward know's how to win rounds and he doesn't need a high volume of slaps to do so he use's his intelligence. He is the more accurate puncher and both have great speed i think ward has the better chin.

The rest of that post is fair, but one thing, do you really think Ward has a better chin than Joe!?

Kessler wasn't inactive after Calzaghe. How do you explain him fighting twice a year and winning before he met Ward? All fighters must pass a health exam before they enter the ring. He wouldn't be cleared if he had double vision. Double vision is an excuse. Kessler his practicality still in his prime now and certainly was back them. He will probably go on to get another victory against Magee.

i do. I have watched ward take froch's best shot and kessler who's a seasoned hard hitter and ward was so young and took these guys best punches. Ward was not fazed by any of them. There was a point were froch hit ward after the bell and ward had his hands by his waist at the time and he never even flinched. Ward's chin is rock solid mate and its only gone a get better as ward's getting stronger and still yet to peak. I have seen joe get put on his arse by a 40 year old hopkins and a shot to **** jones and i know calzaghe wasn't prime in those fights either but i have more reason from what i have seen to say ward's chin is better. Ward's chin has not done anything to make me questions its strength so i rate it highly. Joe's chins quality too but i have seen it get rocked.

I think Joe took bigger and harder shots than Ward in his career and stood up to them fine, Calzaghe had an iron chin

Ward's chin is fine, but we've seen him hurt by lesser fighters and he got through fights against Froch and Kessler because he has fantastic defence. Still though, Ward has a good chin

In a fight, I think Calzaghe would have been too fast, he would have set a pace that Ward is uncomfortable with. I don't think Ward has the experience that Hopkins did when he fought Joe, and I don't think Ward would have been able to wrestle Joe against the ropes regularly enough to score points and win enough rounds

what's your point? you saying hopkins isn't old. Hopkins just lost, he isn't beating anyone today :patsch

also joe retired soon as **** got good he didn't want to risk losing and ran in to retirement, hopkins offered him a huge payday for the rematch and joe declined.

I remember when Froch hit him after the bell . Thats a good point. Calzaghe has been dropped his prime by nobody's.
Ward weak chin is a myth and just got debunked.

Damn Joe was the best ever SMW...for a very short stint.

It took Ward half the career to outshine Joe with plenty more to come.
