For me the issue with Enzo Maccarinelli came when I saw him fight live ringside the night Hatton fought Tyzu. He was up against a journeyman type but close up I noticed his fragility. Though comes acroos as a genuinely nice lad.
apparently that mistake was that he got a stomach bug in the run up to the fight. Hayes response to that is "you **** yourself when your scared"
Yep, same as everyone else- good bye and good luck, Enzo. What a top bloke, it's a shame it hasn't worked out for him.
Well I think that is the wrong choice. But if he does come back, then stick him in with a few opponents to build his confidence up and stay around domestic level.
He hasn't confirmed it anywhere. Even in the first link he says he's unsure. Seems he'll fight on. He should fight a Rob Norton. If he still enjoys boxing I've no doubt he'd be a top domestic fighter still. He can make a bit of money, not what he's been used to...but if he still loves the sport its further than 99% of people go.
He's 28 i think he probably thinking i still need to earn a living for my future plus fact no one wants to go out like that. I hope he takes a while off the sport...get's fresh and happy to be back in gym again as i feel Enzo hasn't been enjoying his boxing for a while then i hope he gets a top trainer and has a few confidence builders and then maybe with time has one more crack at a title. He just looked gunshy. Saturday night he came out to Gatti's theme maybe he needs to look at Gatti's career after 3 losses people felt Arturo was done and he came back better and stronger he needs to freshen his whole situation up totally and want to box 100% no thoughts of UFC should be on his mind.
Give it a few months the bug will be back and after a very brief sabbatical he'll return to the sport with a new trainer in towe. Enzo LOVES to fight and he knows it. How else is he going to make a living?
he clearly doesnt after viewing saturdays fight. he should become a trainer, he seems smart enough hopefully he has invested his money properly.
