So last night I checked out Tim Boxeo's page on Stanza to see what live boxing was available on a Friday night - and everything was either already over (Carlos Cuadras is back, btw), paywalled, or not that interesting. I tapped out and fell asleep when the co-featured bout Luis Daniel Herrera Soto vs. Dan Israel Reyes Cota was starting - wasn't making it through an 8-rounder and then a ten-rounder at one something in the morning (still 11 something in Ciudad Obregón), knew there was no point committing to a RBR thread. I did have a gut feeling that vs. Erick Manuel "Elegante" Hernández Cota vs. Luis Armando "Chapo" Castro Ortíz might have been worth staying up for, though. You can hear the commentator losing his mind calling some of those combos, just counting all the flush bombs landing in a row ("...siete, ocho!!") Castro was on an 0-5-1 slump and coming off four straight losses by stoppage. You can't really blame him for bailing on his stool here - that was an enormous amount of punishment concentrated into just two rounds. "Elegante" is only 21. Remains to be seen if he rises above the Mexican domestic scene but wherever he's fighting - next time I'm tuning in.
