thats why people love the man... a true warrior with a thin line between **** YOU AND RESPECT :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb
:huh :huh :huh So, you agree on those kinds of remarks after knocking out somebody?! Taking a picture with a fallen boxer is now a "class" thing to do with you?! Like they say.. money can't buy "class" at times... Agreeing with this kind of act is being CLASSLESS by iteself! :deal
You must be kidding me. When that fight was announced, I think I **** my pants. I thought he would get beaten like a drum, from pillar to post, and he would be ruined. I was mad at his manager for setting Manny up against a true featherweight monster. I'm one of Manny's fans from way back, and I can honestly tell you that NOBODY thought he had a real chance against Barrera. Manny even joked about it after the fight. He said there were only 3 people in the world who thought that he could defeat MAB. Freddie Roach, Manny himself, and his mother. :yep When Manny outgrew the 112lbs weight limit, and had to go up to 122, I thought that his amazing run would be over. I knew that a lot of great fighters lose their speed and power when they go up a division. And Manny's only attributes are just speed and power. He didnt go up 1 division, he went up 3. But I was wrong. He still had "it" at 122. He could still KO opponents and he could still move quickly. I was surprised. I thought that that was his max weight, and if he tried to go to featherweight, he'd be committing hara kiri. Not only did his handlers let him go up to featherweight, but they set him up to fight arguably the rated number 1 featherweight at the time, in only his SECOND official fight at 126 lbs! I thought his people were bat**** insane!!! Your second ever fight at featherweight, is Barrera?!! THE Marco Antonio Barrera?!! ****ing greedy ******* idiots.
yeah he still had power and everyone knew it, and furthermore everyone knew he started his career as a 17 yr old kid. It's not like he's fighting above his weight division, there was NEVER any thought that he would stay at 105 and he was very obviously a full FW with power and excellent speed. I remember when this fight was made, and it was a stupid fight for Marco. However, Marco liked Pac and said he took the fight because Pac reminded him of a younger version of himself and he thought he deserved the shot. Words you will never hear Pac or Freddy Roach speak about any young fighter, I guarantee you.
Yeah, many fans knew he had good pop, but even I seriously doubted if his power would be strong enough against a true, elite featherweight. And that featherweight's named Barrera, btw. :yep So, I was "WTF?" Power sometimes doesnt translate well, if you go up, even by just one division. I never said that 105 or 112 would always be his career weight. His body did fill up, and his body was that of a natural 122 pounder. But I felt that with that 3 weight class jump, his power would not be as great as before. I saw ATG fighters fight so well in their original weight class, but when they went up, all their power became ineffective. Ex: Elorde vs Carlos Ortiz And Manny was far from being an ATG back then. Nope. You're only saying that now because of hindsight. It was after the fact. I would never have imagined that Manny's power would be effective against elite jr. featherweights, didnt even bother thinking about featherweights, lightweights, etc. I followed him from the start and I was doubting if he can handle the power of the bigger guys, and if they can feel his power. I remember he said that. He was probably not lying. But what else could he have said? They needed to promote the fight. They needed to show that this will be competitive. They also did say good things about his opponent in the MAB-Fana fight. Casual fans would think "The kid's a 5 to 1 underdog, let's just bet on MAB and not buy the PPV. This will be an easy fight." Some fight fans, especially fans of the lighter weights would buy it, because they know it would be action packed, but obviously, they needed to push their product more. Barrera was the only marquee name in the fight. Pac was more or less unknown by most people. They needed to sell the fight. There you go with belittling Manny and Roach again.
Lucero I presume is aged when Pac fought him, by your "standards"? So you remember when this fight was made that it was a stupid fight for Marco? Was it before Pac laid that beating or after? Because if it was before the Pac-Barrera fight, surely you saw Pacquiao-Yeshmagambetov where Pac was knocked down badly, by someone sporting a 17-5-1 (8 KO's) record at the time. And I reckon that's what Barrera's handlers saw too. And that's why at the time, Pacquiao was seen as a worthy scalp to add to Marco's tomahawk but nothing to get real worried about, and it wasn't the stupid fight for Marco that you are now claiming you knew even before the result. But I'm sure you're not speaking on hindsight or the bitter taste of seeing your hero/es get thrashed. Because if you are, just shut the **** up. Stupid dumb**** hater.
Well, at least Morales will always be the guy who can say he beat Pac's ass, at least once. (although I thought Marquez did in the second fight). He was a tough son of a *****.
You guys have only brought up 2 examples of Morales being "classless" In both cases he had an on going feud with Velardez and Barrera. Can you name any other cases when he acted like an *******? All you can fault Morales for is that he holds a grudge. He is a fighter for ****s sake not a priest you cant expect him to turn the other cheek when others belittle him. Also consider the fact that he became good friends with Manny Pacquiao after loosing twice to him. You cannot be friends with someone who knocked you out twice unless you are a humble person. Is Barrera on friendly terms with Pacquiao? All Barrera had after his KO loss was excuses. Morales took his losses like a man. http://bp2.blogger.com/_kp2FrgCoRfs/R_yX-0ztxLI/AAAAAAAACMk/SMbIeh3ZYOg/s400/smb-pacquiao-morales-behind-the-scene.jpg http://www.fightnews.com/morales_pacquiao_presser2.jpg http://www.lvboxing.com/images/mainpagepic/pacquiaomorales2.jpg [yt]PTfpCsJB5UU[/yt]
i'm getting a morales career set thru the post in the next few days. haven't seen much of his early career. looking forward to that. :bbb
stfu *******, you make no sense. bulayenko, you can argue for days about the irrelevant point of how dangerous Manny was to MAB. As a MAB fan I remember when the fight was made and I didn't like it. The fact we're discussing is that Manny hasn't fought a young dangerous opponent since the Barrera fight 1,000,000 years ago, and now he's trying to cash out without EVER doing it. That's what I don't like.
Bungu was a champ for a long time @ 122. He didn't lose until he left the division in 2000 and lost to Hamed. Bungu had twice defeated McKinney, the first of which came before McKinney lost to Barrera, and both wins coming before McKinney beat Jones (and then Morales beat Jones). I was referring to Barrera and Morales "cleaning out" 122. Cleaning out divisions is rare, and Barrera and Morales @ 122 do not qualify as examples.
