We will never agree here. We both had different perspectives and experiences about that fight. Since 2003, he tried to fight the most high profile fighters he can match up with, (Mexican Big 3) with about 1 stay busy fight or tune up fight in between. Yeshmangbetov-tune up for 126 Barrera Marquez 3k battery-stay busy Morales Velasquez-tune up for 130 Morales Larios-stay busy, tune up for EM rematch Morales Solis-stay busy Barrera Marquez Diaz-for a 135 belt It wasnt like he was fighting 5 "bums" in a row to pad his record, and to add more highlght KO vids. Let's not fault his team for looking for the biggest marquee fight possible. The money is pretty lucrative fighting the big boys. And this fighter has been very competitive and exciting, win lose or draw. Not bad for a one dimensional fighter. I'm not belittling Barrera's talent. But I feel some MAB, EM and JMM fans have little true respect for Pac. Weve been off topic for 3 days now, btw. I apologize, threadstarter.
" I don't hate Barrera, I just treat people the way they treat me, and HE's(Barrera) a Mutha****a" CLASSIC line from El Terrible.. lol
I respect Pac... I wish he would defend against some up and comers but I respect him. I hate a lot of his fans though. If they were all as reasonable as you are, I wouldn't go nuts in these threads lol
I was thinking of the young, dangerous opponents he could have faced since that 1st MAB fight, up to his last fight against JMM, and here is the short list: JMM. Fought him twice. In Jin Chi. I believed there was an offer but In Jin Chi was injured or there was a breakdown in their negogiation. Morales. Not a young lion obviously, but one of the proven elites in his division. Rocky Juarez. Guzman. Called Pac but Pac chose to rematch JMM over him. Soto. He was being considered as an opponent by Top Rank, even pitting him against Bobby Pac just to hype a potential fight. Too bad, the MAB rematch was more lucrative for BOTH Top Rank and GBP. Barrios. Valero. Can't fight in US. Solis. Fought him. Or you are talking about the Linares, Guerrero and Gamboas? He could have fought Guzman or Barrios or Valero there, but with the competition and the big matches that were offered to him since the 1st MAB fight, it can be understood well.
