Erik Morales-Lucas Matthysse on 9/17, Barrios Out

I think Lucas will probably win but I'm not counting the "shot" Erik Morales out. He's proven too many times that he's still a force to be reckoned with when he's in shape and motivated.

This fight should definitely be the co-main event. Gomez vs Canelo should open the boardcast that way we dont have to cut to a different location in the middle of the broadcast then Gonzalez vs Rojas then Morales vs Matthysse then the main event. I'm gonna be very happy spending $60 for this. Every boxing card should be this good.

 

Now this is worth a championship, way more than the barrios fight. Thats the Morals I know and like.

 

Lucas Matthysse is probably the best in the division next to Khan. To be honest a fight between these two would be for the real Light Welterweight championship.

Forget about Bradley and the WBO and the so called unified champ.

Matthysse beat Alexander more convincingly despite not getting the win, Beat Judah despite not getting the win and should be the IBF champion but when he stops Morales (I can see it happening) and wins the WBC, Bradley for all we know will duck him leaving Khan - Matthysse . . . there is a boxing god after all

A guy as far gone as Morales should not be fighting Matthysse. Maidana gave Morales a chance because of his lack of technical skills and wild punches. Matthysse punches straight and has pretty good technical skills. I can only see Morales getting hurt here and stopped sometime in the mid rounds. If he wins though. His ATG ranking would have to go up a few notches.

i see morales outboxing mathysse. i love morales and it may be biased but hes a great boxer and i think his actually boxing skills are somewhat under appreciated. remember how mad foreman used to get at morales for fighting down to the level of his opponents to make fights exciting and what not.

why is it BS?? I actually see this one being legitimate. the Barrios fight no but Matthysse has been robbed against the elites so he is an elite and Morales just went toe to toe with Maidana who is the 4th best fighter at 140 and did very damn good.

I like both fighters alot but will be rooting for Morales as this would be history and actually legitimate history.
