Gulo was a top fighter? Good to know. Of course, Gulo is known for his foot speed. He is like a Mexican middleweight Ali
He was never a top fighter. He wasn't anything other than a poor man's Margarito. How he troubled Lara is beyond me. But then again, Lara fights on and off. That was one of his off nights.
Nerds always like to bring up the Angulo fight and say stupid stuff like, "That proves Lara has a glass chin", but the fact is Lara wasn't hurt by that knockdown, nor was he ever hurt by Canelo. Like I said, you want to observe vintage Lara, then watch the Lara - Williams fight which he clearly won, but like his fight against Canelo, was robbed.
Just that simple! Nobody is saying Lara beats G, but in fighting Lara us fans would get a better gauge to how good G really is. Lara has fought better competition in the likes of Williams, Angulo, Canelo and Trout. Lara beat all those guys but Canelo and that fight was close. G has nobody on his resume the level of Lara. How G deals with Lara tells us all more about what level G is at. When G fans don't like the idea, I can only assume they fear Lara putting a halt to the the G train hype. There really isn't more to explain than that.
I don't think GGG fans care if Lara fights GGG or not. Our only problem is Lara hasn't shown any actual interest in fighting GGG. I for one, would love to see the fight just to see this dumb forums reaction. Half of you would go silent and never be seen again.
True. Someone in the thread has already posted Sanchez's slippery exit to the offer, just before GiGi fought Monroe. Perhaps GiGi fans have both bad memories and don't read very well.
Trout, Molina, Vanes, Williams, Angulo, Canelo>>>> Lemieux, Monroe, Macklin, Stevens, Geale, Proska, Wade, Ouma, Ishida, Rubio,....With that kind of resume he can have a little say so.
Yet the only one he didn't lose to or struggle with was Trout. GGG has annihilated everyone he's set foot in the ring against.
