I think people are basing Spence's abilities too much on the Brook fight. Spence was tight in the Brook fight. Spence had everything on the line and he was fighting in Brook's back yard. He was afraid he couldn't stop Brook and he knew if he didn't he may lose on the cards. Did you notice how every time Brook did anything in the fight the crowd went nuts? Going forward I think you are going to see a more relaxed, confident Spence. I agree Thurman has a bit more speed than Brook and maybe even a little more power but Spence is a plodder and he is tough. Spence showed some vulnerability, some weaknesses, notably lack of hand speed and mediocre defense, in the Brook fight but I think that night was an aberration. I like Spence going forward against anyone in his division.
I'm hoping Thurman ends that hype job, I'm not getting my hopes too high though with Spence's bodywork and Thurman hating being hit to the body.
