Rob has put our rankings on the general forum:good. In spite of over 160 views there are only 3 comments! It just proves that they'd much rather ***** about other fighters on other threads than have a real boxing discussion. It's stupid to say the least. When I saw the thread earlier I was really keen to see what they had to say but when it comes to debate past 'nuthugging' and trashing, they fall short. Wankers.
Me and Rob are arguing as to where Limond should be in the rankings. I feel he is in the right place, Rob disagrees. Here is my arguement: Yes he would (still be ranked second). Henry Castle was ranked ahead of him and all he had done of note was knock out a shot Graham Earl. Lets face it, the division is not the most packed with talent AND a good resume at lightweight - Arthur has more talent than Limond, but not the better resume. Thaxton is more established, but recent losses have put into doubt just how much he has left.
Ok, regarding Limmond 2nd in the rankings. I go through his record. His best results at Lightweight, agaisnt true lightweights are in the last 3 years. TKO Loss Round 7 to Amir Khan 12 Round UD over Martin Watson, who has lost to Buckand, Rees, Meager. His other wins in the last 3 years inlcude Matt Scriven on points, who lost to Frankie Gavin last week by KO. Harry Ramogadi on points, a featherweight journeyman, and Ryan Barret on points, a super feather who Amir Khan knocked out in 1 round. Gary Buckland has wins over Henry Castle and Craigh Docherty in the 2009. Henry Castle stopped Ryan Barret in 3 rounds last year, and beat Graham Earl in 1 round. Thaxton may have lost his last two but he was still euro champ. Scott Lawton has a win over Martin Gethin and list to John Murray and Khan/ John Watson has a win over Martin Gethin. Lee McAlister has a TKO win over Craigh Docherty, and has won the Commonwealth title. He lost in a decent fight to Murray. seriously, If Limmond was fighting anyone on this list i would tip him to win. its a 50-50 fight with Murray, and it is not his fault that the fights have not happened. But we rank on records and progress not potential. At the very least, Buckland, McALister and Thaxton should be ahead of Limmond. I admit that its not fair. As soon as Limmond beats a top 10 british lightweight, he goes ahead.

i agree with rob here. i think limond is too high, and thaxton is also too high after his loss to Glover (who isn't even good enough to make the top ten). murray as champ followed by buckland, mcallister, thaxton and then limond sounds good to me
oh right...didn't see that atsch but still, he's not exactly in the domestic elite and i'm not sure how you can lose to someone like that yet retain a number 2 spot when you have guys like buckland who have beaten two top tenners this year.
anyway, i thought these rankings were now agreed until activity takes place in each division? if not, this could go on forever
