You assume any extra money Esco gets will come from Boner? If Boner fights it may still be under the terms of the existing contract, the one that meant so little to him about weight will be gold when it comes to purse.

I doubt Haymon would just pay $250k out of his own wallet without imposing any fines on Broner, Wouldn't make much business sense, he might let him keep his purse today but then deduct on future earnings.

Broner will not outweigh Escobedo by 10 lbs tonight. Esco has been fighting at LW and has weighed in as high as 141....He's likely walking around at 150. Esco thought he'd be the bigger man and now that that's not the case he won't take the fight...and Broner is totally unprofessional for not even notifying him that he couldn't make the weight and offering a bonus to get to a catchweight of 133 which would have avoided all of this.

This will teach people about cheating. You can't act like a douche and think you can get away with it easily. Not everyone is going to be like JMM and accept every disadvantage.

On or off, Broner just tarnished his reputation in a bad way. I guarantee you this much...Broner will never dare to be overweight again.

i would think, like what another poster said, escobedo has grounds for breach of contract against broner or with hbo and gbp.

escobedo will get paid, fight or no fight.

Hayon is a manager, not a promoter. He just gets a cut. Only more money in his pocket if Escobedo's purse goes up. :yep

you are absolutely right, but that has to go through court

I don't think any checks get cut tonight though, if they don't fight

JMM only accepted it because it was a Mayweather fight, which meant real money that he can't see anywhere else, Broner is not a star yet and can't do **** like this in fact he a damn fool he just hurt his own career with this unprofessional BS.

    Broner not a G :-(

Esco's team are playing it hard. Refusing their offer is their way of squeezing more pennies out of them. And I don't blame one bit. How you idiots can't see that, I don't know.

Keep it up, Esco. If you're getting ****ed on scales, you may as well make them pay for it

I would have asked for 100 percent of the puss.

Broner should fight for free for f'n it up and, the fight should be labeled a no contest, so neither fighter gets penalized..

    Everyone is happy
