Every week it is a case of one sided matchups between boxers fallen from grace and a local bum, never any 50/50 fights. Sky sports put these guys to shame
Exactly. Why they couldn't have made Tony Thompson Vs. Cris Arreola this week, I do not know (fair enough, Arreola only fought two weeks ago but they could have had them fight in a month's time or something.)
Yes they could put that fight on with a $50,000 licence fee atsch The guys at ESPN Boxing work with a meager budget and do more with that then Sky do with a bigger budget.
Sky Sports are the big boys for boxing in this country whereas ESPN in America are not, Showtime and HBO pick up the bigger fights so I think for what they have to work with, they do a pretty good job.
I don't think we can criticise anyone, when we regularly see Commonwealth title fights featuring an average champion facing an unknown African.... and undercards filled with mismatches. It's especially annoying when fairly often there is a superior domestic opponent parked up, avoided or made a bull**** offer with no notice.... with someone like Maloney saying ''nobody wants to fight.....''.
