    A great and honest post

Frankly, I think the Pacquiao man-love and worship is boiling at an all-time sickening high here on ESB right now, and I'm a fan for god's sakes

Also, Floyd and his fans are being ridiculed and bullied far more than what could ever be considered appropriate

**** is starting to make me sick to be honest. Like a bunch of ******ed girls in here.

I may not agree with most of what you say but props to you for fighting the good fight and sticking up for one of your favorites. :good

Pac went to 140 and fought the lineal title holder at his best weight.

Pac has fought , DLH, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito above 140.

Is anyone suggesting that pac has really avoided anyone given they've had two cracks at getting Floyd into a ring this year alone?

    Seriously?

Nate Campbell keeps forgetting how Robbie Peden starched his show boating slick ass, twice...

I think it's black AND american.

  7. What I really don't understand is why we are lumping "african american" in with "slick." They are 2 completely unrelated concepts.

Actually he hasn't. He has faced the best/catchy NAMES, but at the time he faced them? They were not what their names made them out to be. Danny Greene beat RJJ but... which RJJ did he beat?

Now this ain't time specific but...

Sadly Cotto is no longer Cotto after the Marg fight. Margo was the man to beat and was destroyed by Mosley. Mosley begged to fight. Pac fought Cotto and added a catch weight? :huh

Paul Williams is the man at 154. The dude has been steadily leaving divisions because he can't buy a fight. Williams beat Margo. Mosley destroyed Margo. So at 154 Pac picks... Margo and added a catch weight? :huh

Bradley and Alexander on the scene making huge waves. Instead Pac takes on Hatton, KTFO by Mayweather, no coach, and barely scooted by a tune up.

Berto, Williams, ODLH at an insanely low weight that the commission, if boxing was a more honest sport, might have stepped in and called off.

Clottey I just don't think that fight was real. Clottey got a 1.5 million dollar purse doubling bonus for arguably his WORST career fight. He too should show again at 154 but we will see.

In every single case Pac is getting credit like these wins were great. In reality they were carefully crafted crap. Especially considering the solid Black fighters around at the time.

    Bradley
    Alexander
    Berto
    Mosely
    Mayweather
    Williams

That is not to say there weren't some more exciting potentials like Sergio Martinez, but guys like that aren't even mentioned.

  9. What other "slick" "african american" is out there for Pacquiao to fight besides Mayweather?? WTF is this bull****?

  10. OK so Mayweather fits the bill. None of these other guys are both "african american" and "slick" per se.

And if you wanna get into who he's "avoiding" lets talk about Bob Arum for a sec.

The blacks. They should be careful what they wish for. Pac's already wiped out the best Mexican fighters of his generation. Floyd, Mosley, P.Williams and maybe even Hopkins will get what's coming to them sdoon enough.

    Right.

Again I agree, however, just like many races are disproportionally weighted towards specific styles, Blacks are weighted towards "fast slick counter punchers". In truth that is what Hopkins' meant, but I understand the "spirit" of his meaning while recognizing his oratory limitations.

What do I think? I think Arum doesn't control any of the top named ones and as a business man he sticks to the formula, Pac versus a Mexican. Clottey was an anomaly due to Arum realizing Clottey's limitations. Mexicans "work" in Arum's business model because they are all action, have loyal fans, and losses are not regarded as career enders due to the all action style. Hell losses endear them to their fans. Not usually so for Black boxers.

I don't know and highly doubt it is a "mean spirited" issue on Pac's end. As a person who has boxed a bit, some styles your style just "clicks" against. Pac clicks against Mexican brawlers. If a guy has the power to get the style he likes? Most fighters would go that route. Mayweather does his fair share of maneuvering. His is just cash based not style based.

Mosley would be a great fight, but Mosley was the man to beat not Cotto. Mosley has since been exposed. Now Pac steps up? Now Mosely is the Black guy who happens to "meet the criteria". Would Mayweather be respected for FMJ/SSM II? :bart

Right on man. I always welcome honest debate.

Yeah most of the guys I started with have just stopped commenting. It gets tiring talking boxing with a guy who eventually says, "You going to listen to thug crackheads!" :fire

Right on, I am up for getting schooled. Bring your best! :thumbsup I will try to keep it up, but I enjoy the arguing though.
