ESPN2 FNF: Breidis Prescott vs. Bayan Jargal RBR

It's been brought to my attention that the ESPN2 broadcast at 10:30pm will not be live. It will be on tape-delay (to accommodate the NBA Playoffs, airing concurrently on both ESPN and ESPN2).

It is live on ESPN3.com - which began their coverage at 8pm.

The co-feature (Demetrius Andrade vs. Omar Bell) is apparently over already.

It's probably starting any minute now. When they show it on ESPN2 in a couple of hours it will all be pre-recorded.

Kevin Rooney Jr. debuting against 0-2 David Navarro.

 

Round 1

Navarro circles off to his right, being very evasive and skirting the ropes. Rooney chases, swiping. Big knockdown with a left hook landing flush as Navarro is pulling away along the ropes. Navarro gets up, slightly shaky. Rooney jumps on him and chases him along the perimeter. Amateurish slapping by Rooney. Navarro is able to squirm out of the pocket, able to catch a lot of punches on his arms but still getting physically rocked. Roony hooks him into a corner but can't pin him there. Short weak left hook to the body by Navarro as he spins Rooney and backpedals away. Big clubbing right by Rooney as he pursues. Navarro is very negative. Now a slapping flurry to the body by Navarro. Rooney clubs him to the ropes. Navarro winds his way inside and butts his head into Rooney's chest. Navarro survives a big right hand to the stomach at the bell.

Round 2

Rooney now follows with his hands down at his hips. Navarro circles to the ropes and swats with a weak right hand. They trade up close, with Navarro very busy-handed. Rooney seems to be uncomfortable letting his own fists fly while he's getting hit even with this pitter-patter. His few bombs do rock Navarro's head back. Rooney walks in, elbows up at his sides and looking really stiff and awkward. Lead uppercut to the body by Rooney. Navarro flurries low and backs him to the ropes. BIG COUNTER LEFT HOOK OFF THE ROPES! That might be it. Navarro dropped hard. He sits there until the count of eight and bounces up. Rooney runs at him and smashes away. Rights and left hooks. Navarro pins his forearms together in front of his face and runs away. Spinning clinch around the waist by Navarro.

Just loaded up the stream, this is great that it's available online, I wasn't really feeling hanging around so late for FNF tonight

 

Round 3

Rooney bangs away at a steady clip, putting right uppercuts and left hooks together one after the other with no break. He's liable to punch himself out. Navarro keeps luring him around the ring and not looking to counter much except for some soggy pretzel jabs. Rooney chases in with that stiff, elbow-up stance and keeps slinging power. Navarro's forearms are getting absolutely hammered. Here's a stand taken by Navarro, trying to back Rooney into a corner with those slapping body shots...landing with his palms. Navarro grunts while slapping away as hard as he can, mouth open. Now they're trading toe to toe. WTF? Was Rooney just buzzed by a head shot from Navarro? It did seem that way...

Not quite a Navarro round, but easily Rooney's worst yet.

30-25 Rooney

Round 4

Rooney finally lets out a jab (but pushes it straight out from that odd high-elbow stance). Now Rooney is wearing his gloves as a mask and shuffling slowly in on Navarro in lieu of the wide-open pressure he was applying before. Rooney is cautiously snapping his jab from the elbow out of that high guard. Now uppercut combos to the chest. Navarro is backed up from one set of ropes to the other before pinballing off of them and right past Rooney. Navarro is getting rocked now by the punches hitting his gloves, and a stray hook that curls around them now and then. Rooney dives in headfirst to pin himself against Navarro and digs away with thudding body shots. Navarro tries to slap out another one of those counter hooks he stunned Rooney with earlier, but can't get anything off while being backed up and slammed. Navarro suddenly has a good sequence throwing 4-5 hard shots while stumbling forward, carried nearly off balance by how forcefully he's throwing. Navarro is obviously not used to throwing power punches.

GAWDAMMIT, ESPN! :twisted: It completely takes the **** out of it if it's not live when it's on TV.
