Round 1

Right jabs and left uppercuts from Szpilka. Mollo tries to jab down at Szpilka's stomach. Lots of nervous energy, both darting in and out with feints. Mollo ducks under Szpilka's right jab and tries to put his over the top. BIG LEFT HOOK BY MOLLO!!! Szpilka hurt, ducking, and holding. Mollo clubs away with rights, and then digs the body. Szpilka falls to his knees. Ruled a knockdown!! Now the ref gets on Mollo's case as he lunges in with additional body shots, warning him for head clashes. Szpilka clinches.

Round 2

Nice left hand timed by Szpilka as Mollo comes forward in straight lines. Mollo is trying to tank in and go to work on Szpilka's body, but Szpilka is using too much movement and flipping up the right jab between his gloves. 1-2 by Szpilka. Mollo isn't very imaginative about his pressure, just pawing some jabs and then leading with ill-advised wide left uppercuts. Szpilka has torn open the cuts on both of Mollo's eyes with the jab. (one was started by a headbutt) Szpilka keeps sliding his feet back, angling himself off the ropes, and jabbing and hooking at Mollo's eyes. He has shredded them. Celestino Ruiz rules that one was from an elbow. The doctor has a look. Mollo is cleared to go, somehow. BIG LEFT HOOK BY MOLLO! Szpilka is hurt and clinches. They continue to infight after the bell! Ruiz is furious! He almost disqualifies Mollo! Instead he sends him to his corner.
