Round 1 Solomon jabs and circles to his left. A lead hook from Solomon. Galarza patient. Galarza has a 1-2 picked off, and then eats a counter 1-2 on the chin. Solomon pecks at Galarza's guard with his jab. Big corkscrew shot from Galarza misses (no legwork with it). Low blow from Galarza, and Solomon goes down. Per replay it was an uppercut to the underside of the crotch. Solomon doesn't take long to time in. Galarza whacks Solomon against the ropes, but Solomon fights his way off. Solomon using a lot of shoulder rolling. Big right hand lands flush for Solomon. Galarza loads up on some power punches but doesn't connect. Solomon 10-9
Galarza looks like he should be at 140. Look a bit out of shape. Solomon is an excellent athlete, but a little wild there with some of those leaping left hooks.
Solomon would be doing really well if he was just a bit more accurate. He looks to have some potential though.
Round 2 Solomon in rhythm now, taking small lateral steps on the outside, jabbing, moving his head, and shifting his weight by turning on his waist and basically avoiding everything Galarza throws his way from arm's length. Galarza suffering from his reach disadvantage (it will be interesting to look up exactly what the tale of the tape says...) and an inability or unwillingness to cut the ring off. Galarza continues to lunge with right hands that Solomon is easily sidestepping. Solomon changes directions twice in a row quickly, trying to tie Galarza's feet up in a knot. Galarza stares him down and paws at him. 20-18 Solomon
The commentators are saying that Galarza has so much power, but Solomon looks like he packs a punch too.
Round 3 Solomon leans away from a couple of hard Galarza windmill punches that collide against his arms and push him back. He is able to keep up with his momentum on his feet and get out of harm's way. He gets his balance and mojo back in a hurry and goes back to jabbing and bobbing. Now a lead overhand right from Solomon backs Galarza off momentarily. Galarza tries to double jab his way inside on Solomon. Solomon is too ring-aware, and turns the corners too effectively as he circles the perimeter to get trapped. Solomon ducks down as he throws a 1-2, the right hand lands but is muffled as Solomon gets his head trapped under Galarza's right arm. They both flurry hard at the bell. 30-27 Brad Solomon
Yeah, they probably just looked at the records and went by KO ratios. You can't always tell the whole story from that.
Got to think Galarza isn't gonnna have any gas in the tank as the fight goes on. If Solomon doesn't have any chin issues, he outta keeping whipping him. I'd like to seem some body punching from Solomon.
Round 4 A couple of deceptively lazy Solomon left jabs are followed by a quick tiger uppercut (yes, that was a Street Fighter II reference). Galarza is looking a bit arm weary. Solomon low-blowed again. Galarza using his jab as a range finder, with no snap on it. He loops a right hand as Solomon circles left and falls well short, although Solomon switches on his feet and begins circling right just a moment later (that could have turned into a lucky bit of timing for Galarza). Solomon is very confident in his body language, he could get into trouble if he's not very aware. They exchange in the pocket, Galarza punching with more ferocity and Solomon with the quicker hands, neither terribly accurate. 40-36 Solomon
