When I say looked good, I mean he fought well. Excitement has very little to do with how good you are. And lots of fighters who are high risk low reward have to ask for fights. It means nothing and isn't a valid point against them.

He is not far from great....he can box, has good handspeed and a good chin. He seems to me to be a great fighter with no great wins. If he gets a great win, then what will you call him? Soto is a good fighter, and he was beaten pretty easily.

    :huh

Do you have something against Guzman? Is this kinda like how all the Floyd boys hate Cotto or anyone else @ WW and give them no credit?

The truth is, Guzman is a very good boxer. He's skilled, quick. and tough. He's never had his opportunity to shine on the center stage like many other have. It's not about hating his style, it's that most don't know how he is, or do not want to risk losing to a guy who's not a major name.

And no, he's not great. Not sure why that's even a factor...

he is not selling ppvs because no one on the top gave him a chance yet. will pac sell ppvs if mad did not come around? hell no. he could have beaten all the fighters at 122 but without mab and a stage to showcase his talent, pac would never have been the huge ppv draw that he is right now.

guzman is basically like pac before pac met mab. both were good fighters and champions, proven themselves against worthy opponents but without the marquee match-up that would catapult their career to new heights.

like his style or not, guzman is a great fighter. he deserves a shot at jmm and/or pac. humberto soto is no rookie, even pacdbest picked soto to beat guzman showing that it was a real challenge for guzman and he passed it.

that's the problem with many filipino fans. becasue of pac, they tend to measure greatness with excitement rather than with skill

He gets hit for that style.. Soto was slow as ****...The Barrios fight was a better measure.. and Barrios certainly is good but far from great.

Hes a poor mans version of Calderon...And especially Floyd..Hes got no power whatsoever and hes defense aint really that good.

If he beats a Juan Diaz, PAC or JMM..one of those hed be considered great..he wont have any legacy but people calling him great will be a bit justified

So what he gets hit? He has a great chin so far. Soto is slow but hits hard right? Pacquiao gets hit too....

And as long as he hits them back more often, so be it. Guzman actually doesn't get hit clean often. I think it's just more glaring when he does because his style is made not to get hit, so you simply notice it more. Soto didn't have a very high connect percentage.

Are you telling me that Guzman is a great fighter???...and hes about to retire as the most skilled and avoided ??? brush up on your memory and watch the barrios fight..now remember that Barrios is B level

why well Barrios was just a stepping stone (tune up fight for JMM) so that means B. Its not excitement..at all ..when you do everything two notches below a Calderon that aint much..thats Raheem

why should i brush up my memory with the barrios fight? if i told you that pac would be defeated soundly by jmm and told you to brush up your memory to the time when pac got defeated by morales, you'd say that pac now is much improved!

how come you can't do the same for guzman? her performed very well against soto and that's where i'm basing my judgement because fighters improve. i don't base judgements from carefullty selected fights where the fighter i am not a fan off looked terrible.

like the people pacfans hate when they suddenly bring up that he was ko'd by two nobodies and was sent to the ground by the journeyman yeshmagambetov and the not so good hussien.

and where the **** did i say he'd retire as the most skilled and avoided? i said a lot of things but that was not one of them

i got no problem with the list. it's just one man's opinion . 1 is good and 2is good and 3 is good no argument but dlh im a fan and although he fought close with PBF he lost he shoudn't even be ranked

What are you talking about?? Improve or not I think PAC is better than JMM...It has nothing to do with improvement.

Guzman is not that great not as great as JM, PAC..thats why no publication can be professional enough to list him in the top 15 because he just doesnt belong there. My contention is that Juan Diaz better than Joan and they are pretty much the same class at 135. Forget PAC Joan aint in that level yet.. I hate ESPN but they are right

calderon was really too low on that list. it just shows people don't respect the lighter weights. show me a fighter who has defeated all there is to defeat in his division, moved up and defeated the best champ there. ivan did that and he should be ranked higher than 15th.

if pac beats jmm in march, the 2 spot should be his. no questions asked.

My list is so much better. At least the recognize Joe Calzaghe above Pac and Vazquez & Marquez being neck in neck.
