MMA is a lesser sport. So the winner is obvious.

Impressive accomplishments indeed. But in the context of their respective sports, Manny just did more.

OLDH may have been way past it and Diaz may not be an elite fighter. But you can't deny that the Hatton win was impressive and significant considering that he was the lineal champ and undefeated at the weight. Add to that Manny also won the lineal championship against the 2nd best P4P boxer in Marquez(regardless of the controversy). And that Manny did all of this in 4 weight divisions.

I'm sorry but winning 1 belt and defeating 2 previously undefeated fighters just doesn't hold a candle to 3 belts, 2 lineal championships, 4 weight classes with one win against the 2nd best boxer in the world all in the span of a little more than a year.

No surprise. Machida is good, but what Pac did was more impressive.

lets not compare DLH to these MMA fighters....

That's bull****, the guys don't fight enough to know who's really a top guy or not in MMA. Why do you say the best are in UFC? Who's saying that.. oh.. the UFC... they control the product.

This is like comparing Roger Federer to the top level players in some higher level racket ball league and complaining that the racket ball players deserve some kind of consideration. They deserve 0.

Does anyone know if this award was televised? Or was it off camera?

It was actually a huge event yesterday (TSN), attented by big celebrities. Performance by Steve Wonder, Wyclif Jean and a message from the President Barack Obama. I'm not sure when they're airing it again though.

Edit: I didnt actually see Manny Pacquiao's awarding, I went out to get me some mexican food and by the time I came back (one hour after), it was over.
