Eubank will be a bag of bones of 156 and Benn is in a good position in the Welterweight rankings stepping up to fight a much bigger man....... 2 things happen here for me; 1. Given the size, fitness, strength and ferocity of Eubank....... he walks straight through Benn. He's got a solid chin as well and has been in with punchers like Groves so you'd think Benn's shots will just bounce off him. 2. The weight cut for Eubank murders him and he after a few rounds he's completely zapped. He's fought up at 168 but he wasn't a big super middle and was doing that for big fight opportunities but he looked tight on the scales against Liam Williams in his last fight at 160, I have no idea how he'll get the extra 4 pounds off............ They would be shoe horning weight divisions here and in any other situation it would be absolutely ridiculous but I get why it's on people's lips, given the family history, in the UK it would do huge numbers.
I don’t get what this would do for either guys career but maybe the UK fans can enlighten me. I can’t wrap my head around fans being excited about fighters that are separated by 2-3 weight classes fighting just because of their fathers. Kinda remind of the Canelo-Chavez Jr crap at 165 when everybody knew Chavez was gonna be a zombie at that weight. What made it even worse was Oscar saying Canelo wasn’t ready for 160 to fight GGG but somehow he was more than ready to fight Chavez at 165..
Eubank wasn`t ferocious in his last fight, seems to be sitting back and waiting openings like his trainer Roy Jones used to.
And why on earth wouldn't they? This is prize fighting and there are big piles of money to be made here.
Eubank at 155? Never happening unless he starves himself for 6mths, and is allowed to weigh in a week before the fight. Move along people nothing to see here.
People are rightly unimpressed by Juniors boxing skills but he is certainly a very tough fighter and a nights work for anyone. If his 2 losses had been 15 rounders he would surely have won them both. He has been outpointed but never hurt.
The pair of them could not lace up their fathers boots when it comes to fighting, although Eubank has had the more stiffer tests, we are yet to see Benn go in the trenches, it is an easy win for Eubank IMO.
That's not a catchweight. That's an official weightclass. It's called caneloweight, or notamiddleweight, depending on which org is sanctioning it.
Im not interested. I get the family history and all but its a fight that means nothing. Benn is a solid prospect with possible big fights in the future in his division, i dont know why he would risk all that to fight CEJ.
