People always underestimate Mick Hennessey he is like the Audley Harrison of promoters. His destiny is to become the greatest promoter this country has ever sen can he do it.....YES HE CAN!
:rofl It's so true... But in truth I think this is a good move initially. No reason to be fighting tomato cans hidden away somewhere when you can build some kind of reputation on normal TV. Even if it is Hennessy, Eubank has so much name value it would be silly not to take advantage of it.
Good choice, get him on terrestrial and known to the public, once he starts to get some experience and momentum, get the hell away from fat mick.
The name is all ready known. Promoting Jr should be ****ing easy especially on 5, but if anybody can **** it up its Mick.
How did Mick start in boxing? What are his other business interests? He seems to have very good contacts in Canada.
Hi All, this is my first post on ESB so please be kind. I'm no big fan of Hennessey but I think this is the best move for Eubank Jnr, what ever we think of Hennessey he always seems to deliver for his boxers, look at fury fighting on Channel 5, none of the other promoters have been able to secure terrestial tv and if reports are true that he has secured dates for next year then Fury and Eubank could be become the new faces of British boxing alongside Khan & Froch. So in my opinion he has made the right decision, he could of gone to matchroom stuck on Sky watched by 50 - 100k fight fans, not by over 3 million plus causal fans who have watched furys last 2 fights. its a no brainer.
Good short term move for Eubank Jr IMO. After a few years when Mick's channel 5 deal expires, he will more than likely move to Matchroom or Frank.
Since seeing 'that video' i'm struggling to get behind him. He's likely to have a bright future ahead of him though.
if your talking about that promo video, how can you not get behind him? its was awesome! anyone have a guess when jr will be out first? Fury undercard in manchester or is that too soon? Early next year?
