He'd lost some 'killer instinct' after the Watson fight. Watch his fights after that and before. If he had an opponent buzzed or hurt (like he did with Collins) he stepped back and would pose rather than go for the kill.

He's not overrated, imo. He was actually more skilled than people give him credit for.

He said he was scared he may kill Collins when he had him hurt, i believe him. He did lose that finishing instinct. Always been a Eubank fan, he chats a lot of bollocks nowadays but got massive respect for him.

as much as i liked eubank,he has gone down in my book these last few years, this artical stinks of jealousy.

    Oh and how the **** can £500 last 6 months,bull**** chris/atberry

please read the following lists, what eubank is saying is complete bollocks,he is just jealous of benns success and adoration of the country and watsons as well, benn was loved cos of his style and watson cos he was a humble guy and superb boxer, eubank was just a complete arrogant tosser and its rubbed off on his son.

Eubank clearly has the best record, beating Benn himself, Watson himself - twice, as well Rocchigiani and Holmes. Five very, very good wins considering Benn had just beat Barkley and went on to beat McClellan and Rocchigiani went on to clearly better Maske - twice, and Michalczewski and Nunn (not to mention taking Hamsho in a round who Hagler had trouble with), and that Watson was constantly improving having had a 60-40 fight with McCallum while rusty and lost via exhaustion. Lindell H only lost to Van Horn via body shot/exhaustion and had been robbed and avoided most of his career (Graham headbutt/cut, WBC 160 no.1., Korea, etc), but beat Frank Tate (who was a class above, say, DeWitt) impressively.

Apart from records, Eubank surely won that first Collins fight, too, and beat Malinga and Wharton 10x more comfortably than Benn did.

Eubank had Calzaghe hurt bad, in the last round of their fight. Eubank hit him with two bombs in a fearsome exchange at the end of the round, and Calzaghe just leaned on Euabnk lifeless.

Calzaghe was not even holding on, he was just leaning! but Eubank in my opinion deliberately chose to not follow up.

40min.50sec mark of this video approx the exchange starts!!

Maybe that's because their styles were better for Eubank especially Wharton's. And Benn beat Sherry 10x more comfortably Eubank and wasn't reduced to headbutting him.

On that logic Benn won the second fight and Watson won the first then. :nut

I expected to call bull**** on this, but nope, he definitely slumped like a fighter perilously close to separation from his senses. Too late in the round and he kind of fell into a pretty favourable position, but given his reaction, another big shot probably would have made the outcome touch and go.
