Exactly!! Just Hearn and his BS, as he is hoping the numbers are low. They are genuinely in fear of the Eubanks and what they could potentially do with ITV
60k would be on the high side of my thinking. I hope that ITV see sense and put him on ITV1 next time- perhaps scaling back on pundits and chief support.
He said it himself he got $11k for Ortiz and his take home for the full year was 26 This content is protected http://www.*******.com/forums/showthread.php?t=732882
If I was advising Jnr I'd say sign a contract with ITV but not for PPV unless it's verses a GGG, Canelo type. The sort of names Eubank was fighting in the 90s on ITV (aside from Benn, Watson and Collins) were second tier but he was still making big money (about £700k a fight). Which is likely more than Jnr made from Quinlan.
To be fair to ITV they did hype the fight during the news and in prime time programming but I still think 60k is a touch high. ITV need to get a deal in place with Sky/Virgin to allow punters to buy the fights direct from their remote controls.
the words used to express how much pricey got was "just a few grand" by someone very close to him. In other words, less than 10% of what's quoted above.
Wouldn't believe that for a second. No way is he fighting for the European heavyweight title, against an opponent who could potentially send into retirement, for ' a few grand'. Also, how on earth would he pay Coldwell, his S&C coach(s), and various others out of 'a few grand'?.
Allen got 9k for fighting Luis Ortiz, Eubank Jr was getting 30k for fighting Tommy Langford before he pulled out. 100k or anything close for Price would be insane.
Kind of puts into perspective why guys like price etc put themselves in the shop window for a joshua fight.
9 grand for fighting Luis Ortiz is disgraceful. He's clearly got more balls than brains but Eddie should respect him more than that.
