Eubank v Benn undercard announced

I don't think this will be half as big as Hearn hopes on DAZN PPV.
It's not got the massive build up that Sky can entice the casuals with .
And most boxing fans think it's a joke of a fight.

DAZN's owner surely must be thinking of ****ing Eddie off by now

 

I have heard that DAZN's owners are negotiating with other boxing promoters.

 

Interesting undercard. Is Arthur not tied to any channel now? He was on ch5 recently.

If this was on Sky Box Office it would be huge, on DAZN it’ll do well to break even.

 

They need to do something drastic as any fight of interest is on Box Office and only one very poor monthly UK card for the £7.99 subscribers.

Look at tonight's card on DAZN UK, there is next to zero interest in it at all from boxing fans and next to zero public awareness that there is a card on DAZN UK tonight.

 

Hearn and Matchroom aren't doing a terrible card, especially in the US. In the UK the cards could be better though I agree. If DAZN want to succeed in the UK, they need more content, which Matchroom have no control over. It would be nice if they had more UK shows which is why it makes sense for them to be negotiating with a smaller British promoter.

 

He's tied to Wasserman who I think promote Eubank and are co-promoting with Matchroom to get this huge fight made.

Seriously this whole fight card belongs on a midday show on BoxNation

 

I'd argue that most of that is also because no-one likes Galahad

 

Anyone remember Eddie slating the Fury undercard, and then he puts this shocker on.

 

We can hope that the journalists wake up and start asking critical questions to Eddie Hearn.

How does Eddie "PPV is killing the sport of boxing" Hearn feel about presenting an undercard of such poor quality?

What happens to all the money DAZN pays Eddie Hearn ?

"Joshua is the best thing since Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali combined", Hearn says.

"You're ugly and have a big nose", Hearn says to Jodie Marsh.

The best thing about this fight is the undercard.

 

I overheard 2 guys in work discussing the fight.

The gist of the conversation was "its cool that Eubank and Benn are fighting for the belts like their dad's did". They seem to be under the impression that this is a title fight lol.

Goes to show how a bit of creative marketing and promoting can make any event seem bigger than it actually is.

 

The two of them are on Good Morning Britain tomorrow (Friday). They need to push this hard in the next week as it doesn’t feel like a big event to me at all yet.
Being on DAZN feels like a killer for the PPV. No way this does as well as they’re hoping.
On Sky and PPV they advertise their PPV’s during the football for weeks leading up and it must help.

 

Also the Fury undercard did have Ball vs Lowe and the the British Title fight, and lets be fair Fury vs Whyte was massive.
