Hearn torn, he realises how difficult to deal with the Eubanks but at the same time can see the commercial potential of CEJ, and the opportunity to make some decent money out of him. I doubt EH will be voiding any contracts with CEJ
:good sounds about right mate, that's a great shout having a co promotion with MH and FW. I agree it's a complete mess, I thought Jr had a deal for 3 fights, he's had two and the third had to be a title shot or they could walk away, or maybe that was the first deal, I'm confused
Yeah, Hearn said in a couple of interviews after Brook Vs GGG was announced that he likes Jr and would work with him again but he would want Sr to come back, apologise and take a step back. I don't think Hearn spilling the beans on Sr's negotiation demands would have helped the situation so this could drag on for a while.
Eubank Sr it is common knowledge is a nightmare to deal with and is burning bridges left, right and center with promoters. They all can see the commercial value in Jr (Sr and every promoter) he is a talent that could earn a lot of money in his career if only a bit of logical long term planning was displayed by his father. Sky & Matchroom for example they built the O'Sullivan fight gloves are off,SS news etc knowing Jr would be showcased in the fight and build him from there. The long game being a regular PPV fighter and a fighter the casuals would follow as would the £'s. Instead of building on the Sky/Matchroom bandwagon,Sr decided to walk away strange move when they would of been given the backing and exposure to cash in big time in the near future.
Thanks. No guarantee that Mick would step in because of the Blackwell/Eubank situation but he clearly is better placed than Frank/Hearn who clearly have had many issues with Sr in the past. Totally possible that Hearn doesn't bid for the fight to get rid of Eubank Jr which would be a shame for the guy. Sr really needs to step back, listen to Davies more because he's ruining his son's career.
I'm thinking he fights that bum Langford, but I love the Murray fight but I think its unlikely to happen
I was thinking the very same. Eddie seems totally unemotional, and doesn't seem to let personal differences and former disagreements get in the way of making a few quid. Could be that he's very very laid back and thick skinned, or maybe it just shows how ruthless he is where making money is concerned ?
At Middle eubank probably beats Murray, at super I'd fancy Murray chances a little more. Can't see the fight happening though. Unless it's decent money for Murray then why bother...
He did seem annoyed in that iFL interview- I get the impression with all UK promoters that patience is running out with Sr.
The remaining Matchroom fight would well be Murray if he can get back to 160. Murray was a good fighter there but he's looked a little jaded in his last outings; he's been in a lot of tough fights and I think it shows now. Even so, it'd easily be Jr's best win. As for Langford, I'm not so interested in that fight
There's a poster on here who constantly starts threads about Eubank snr but appears to have gone AWOL. Hope he's OK.
