When somebody comes up with a positive test, I'll believe it. Until then, it's all speculation, at best - and frankly slanderous. Holyfield never tested positive for anything, period.

The fact is he never failed a test. He fought his heart out in every single match and ducked noone. imo he is the best heavyweight of the 90's.

Or they simply increase the epitest precursor to keep pace with the test.

For eample if you up the epitest precursor amount three fold you can take even more test to keep the ratio within an acceptable 4;1 ratio.

Your new ceiling would be 12;3 because of increasing the precursor 3X you can now up the test 3X. So you have tripled you actual levels of serum test in the body but stayed within an acceptable ratio. Again they only test for a ratio not serum levles.

people fail test because they take other compounds that contain specific metabolites that are screen for. Basically they mess up the timing and the compound is not fully out of their system when the test is taken. Failing the ratio based portion of the screening meansw you did not address your level of epitest precursor to keep pace with your test levels as I explained previously.

Thinking Holyfield did not take PED's is either a case of ignorance or wild fanboyism...

The referee from Matthysse/Harris would have had a heart attack before being able to lunge in to stop it.

It's true he was never caught but in a sport like boxing where you have big gaps between fights and you are only tested after a fight it is very easy to cheat and not get caught. The few fighters who do get caught are idiots as there is no reason they should still have the drug in their system if done correctly.

The circumstantial evidence is very compelling it's very likely he cheated. So it does taint his career to a certain degree though not as much as if he failed an actual test.

I can understand why many would want to defend him as he was a great fighter and gave us fights that were breathtaking to watch and he always had a disadvantage being so small.

He's still a great fighter for me but one with a question mark next to his name.
