I like Burns, but there's nothing really stand-out about him. I wouldn't say he's an excellent boxer because I find him pretty basic. He's good at what he does and he deserves enormous credit for picking Martinez apart, but watching Rocky in that fight, he was extremely crude, wild and unadaptable.

For me, he's lucky that he's boxing in which is at the moment probably the worst weight-class in boxing in my opinion. There's no stand-out names and that's why he's near the top of his division.

Yep man I think Burns and Martinez deserve props from the last fight .Martinez for coming all the way to his oppo's back yard and Burns for beating the best rated superfeatherweight in the world .Nothing else to step up to I don't think. Martinez was the man to beat at 130

Rickys opponent is far better than Martinez's first defence opponent, all of the UK's top 5 would have beat that guy.Nutjob kettle pot black!

So? That is of absolutely no relevance whatsoever. Who cares what Martinez' opponent was like on his first defence? That doesn't excuse Burns for having a similarly **** choice of opponent. Now I don't blame you or Ricky for it, I know you fight who's put in front of you, but it's still the case. This guy hasn't beaten anybody and doesn't even appear in the WBO's top 15 on there website. Don't try and sugar-coat it.

The doubters being people who think your opponent isn't good enough? I'm not looking forward to you proving them wrong. ;)

Nutjob shut up stop giving Billy so much stick. You're free to have an opinion but be respectful at the end of the day there isn't a forum for your job where people are giving you and your colleagues ****.

Having guys like Billy and Bomber coming onto ESB regularly is one of the things that makes ESB great, you don't get a chance to speak to the insiders and personalities of most Sports so appreciate it.

Evensen could be better than given credit for. Nobodys even seen him. He has one loss a few years ago but he's only 24 years old, he's likely improving. I wouldn't be surprised if he troubles Burns, I don't think Burns is world class in the sense of the word I'm thinking of. He's beaten Martinez who I said was overrated before they even fought, he beat Nicky Cook so what? Nicky wasn't world class.

Burns is a good fighter but he might be troubled in this fight and he won't last long at world level. People will be licking their lips to fight him, luckily he's in one of the worst divisions.

Billy if you are as confident in your boy as you say, give us a guide on the next couple of opponents after this fellow. Who do you think he should be fighting ? Who do you hope he is matched with.

It was a great performance against Martinez, cracking fight.

fought his 1st 7 fights at 130, and has stated he is coming to Scotland to go to war.
