Why is the onus on Casimero to make a fight? This is such a dumb reasoning. We came for a fight, so both fight. If one doesn’t fight, deduct a point. End of.

Fight. Else join a ballet class.

Rigo's running would have been nullified if Casimero knew how to cut of the ring. Very poor training considering Casimero knew what Rigo was going to do. This would have forced Rigo to exchange. You're against fighters learning a skill?

It’s a fight. I know an arm chair warrior like you think someone can simple “cut the ring off” but it’s not that simple if someone is simply trying to survive, specially someone as high level as Rigo.

The whole point of boxing is to “fight”. If you’re avoiding a fight then all you’re doing is “not fighting”, therefore the most you can muster is a draw, in the case that both of you “don’t fight”.

Auto-loss in the fights where he ran. I have 0 tolerance for runners.

In the ams, you get told of for low activity.

It's a skill. Rigo didn't do that to Loma. You ever see Golovkon or R. Gonzales get ran around in circles and miss badly all fight? No, because they learned the skill of cutting off the ring. Casimero knew what was in store for him. That's why he told Rigo not to run, tried to **** Rigo off so he might exchange more. It didn't work. Am I blaming Casimero for the bad fight? no. Am I upset that he didn't prepare for a fight he knew was going to happen? yes. Rigo is 110% responsible for that fight. You're acting like Casimero couldn't have done more. I just feel, if he learned to cut the ring off, he would be a true terror. Like to see fighters learn, adapt and destroy. There is no doubt in my mind, that if Casimero knew how to cut the ring off, he would have been the first man to KO Rigo.

It's hard to cut off the ring on a guy that's all out running. 70% of it was pure running and 30% was footwork. It's impossible to really plant yourself. And Rigo was clearly more afraid of Casimero's power than Loma's. Not saying Casimero hits harder than Loma, but Rigo just wasn't as afraid.

U have 2 fighters. 1 run. The other runs too. No fight. Therefore, the onus should be on both to not run.

GGG has never faced any runner remotely as good at it as Rigo.

Loma dwarfed Rigo. Can’t run from a guy with way longer reach than you, or height.

It’s a fight first and foremost.

I get what you're saying, but it was very apparent early on, Casimero doesn't know how to cut off the ring at all. Rigo is a slippery guy, but Casimero was leaving the side door open all night. Rigo had an escape route all night. Like I said before, not Casimero's fault for the fight, but he should invest more time in training, learning to cut the ring off. He would be a beast.

Look, you can be a contrarian all you want, doesn't change the fact Casimero doesn't know how to cut the ring off. You will not convince that knowing how to cut off the ring isn't a great attribute to have. You'll never convince me that Casimero would have probably stopped Rigo if he had that skill. Bottom line, Casimero is a good talent, but there is room for improvement.

I like this idea but I would prefer double loss or no contest to a draw.

In some situations a draw isn't such a bad outcome.

The onus is not on Casimero to “make” a fight.

There are only 3 possible scenarios in the ring:

    a) both come to fight = a fight
    b) one comes to run and the other fight = we may or may not have a fight
    c) both come to run= no fight.

therefore, the onus is on the fighters to come to fight. The negative is the one avoiding the fight.

your argument is asking one person to carry the other. Why should they have to?

It’s like turning up with a dancing partner and one of them hasn’t practiced, and then saying “well if one of them turned up and was so good, he could have still carried that dance despite the other being utter shite and needing carrying”.

Point is, runners need carrying to make a fight.

I was pretty hyped up for the style matchup, the great thing about boxing is there are multiple ways to be good. Sometimes the head first puncher needs a runner as a test. I thought Casimero was crazy enough to really charge in and explosive enough to do something.

But once he got countered a couple times, he became hesitant and his output went very low.

So he was also not engaging as full as he could, though as you point out it wasn't his choice that started the chain reaction. Still, I like this double draw idea.

Again, I don't disagree when you say the onus isn't on Casimero to carry the fight. What I am saying is, Casimero needed to do a better job at cutting off the ring. You could see how frustrated he was in there. Yet, Rigo fought exactly how Casimero ecpected him to fight.
Are saying Casimero doesn't need to learn the skill of cutting off the ring? With his power, he would really be a test for anyone.
Are you saying the fight wouldn't have been better if Casimero was able to force Rigo into more exchanges?

I don’t know where I saw the comment, but someone mentioned that in AM boxing the ref will stop the fight and address a fighter not fighting. I have seen it one or two times in pro boxing, but that should definitely be more of a thing in pro boxing, and it should come with point deductions if necessary.
