Explain how or why you think Cotto would beat Mayweather.

This whole who has Cotto beaten is laughable. Especially, considering the guy we are comparing him with is PBF. Its not like he's bean taking on all comers either. But thats boxing you can't fight everyone and there is always an angle. Few people have resumes like either of these guys do. Thats a fact.

 

He has fought good fighter don't get me wrong. My thing is people try to compare his resume against Floyd's and then say well Cotto beat the better fighters. His biggest win is against Mosley and most fans pad his resume like he is an ATG.

 

I hate this crap. This is the most annoying thing about too many Floyd fans. Why won't any of them ever just come out and say "**** it Cotto's the best there is. My boy would school his ass. So lets get it on." Comon boyz whats so hard about that?

 

Oscar got tired because , even though he was throwing the Jab Floyd D had Oscar landing it at a rate of less then 15% , Oscar jab is far longer then Cotto's .. Not saying that Cotto's jab will be ineffective against Floyd but IMO Oscar's Jab is better then Cotto's even at this stage of his career.

everyone has good points ... but I've only seen 2 guys give legit arguements as to why they think Cotto will win ... can we get some more?

 

I'm not sure who your talking about? Cause I don't remeber anyone saying that Cotto has a better record then Floyd. And as far as Cotto's record goes it does look a lot like the records of ATGs shortly before they stepped into the big time. Again I don't hear anyone calling Cotto an ATG. What I see is fans looking at his resume and thinking "here is a future ATG" or (more rationally) "here is a likely future ATG".

 

Cotto was out jabing mosely! His jab is pretty dam affective.

 

Cotto showed he can box against Mosley ... he has many dimensions but is too green to beat PBF. I would like to see Cotto use his right hand more --

 

Then you may need to do a search of the forums my friend. I am pretty sure you will find alot of fans saying that he is already an ATG and he has a better resume than Floyd does. I would not have brough it up if I never heard anyone say this.

At the WELTERWEIGHT division they have fought boxers of a similar skill level and well Cotto has perhaps been hurt, Floyd has not been overwhelmingly impressive either. Moreover, Cotto seems like he could fight Floyd in a similar manner to Castillo who probably gave Floyd as much trouble as anyone. And if Floyd has improved since than, I think Cotto can also learn from watching previous fights and give Floyd a good hard fought match. Most importantly, and something you seem to have completely missed over and over and over again... this is BOXING and because of they have yet to meet in the ring to decide the issue I think Cotto could beat Mayweather. Again... this is BOXING and people get punched in the face which has a tendency to produce these things we call 'upsets' once in a while.

Now I eagerly await your rebuttal which will most likely have Floyd ranked #1 p4p and no one will have a chance ever and Floyd shouldn't even have to fight anymore we should all just accept his greatness and make sweet sweet man love to him over the internet. Me... I like watching boxers in the ring boxing each other. I'm crazy like that.

 

yeah people do need to look further in depth into Cotto's resume and check out the ages and the status of his opponents.

If you see it from a hardcore boxing fans point of view, you would see that alot of the guys are fillers -- the type of fighters, elite fighter fight on their way to their first title shot.

You don't see guys like that on DLH's resume ...
