Why? Would it make him a better boxer or you more or less of a fan?

When Bradley (the then #1 to Khan’s #2) refused to box Amir and moved up instead, Khan was widely regarded as the number 1 lightweight. The Garcia fight wasn’t a voluntary at all - it was a unification with Garcia as WBC champion. Yes Khan was expected to win easily, but it was for the ring belt. Garcia was then the #1 LWW for a few years before he himself moved up.

How do you know? Because he stopped Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin?

For one I’m not sure Brook ever beats Maidana. If Carson Jones gave Brook hell on earth I’m not sure he’s faring well with Maidana. The fact of the matter is any one of those wins would either be Brook’s best or second best win, whereas Khan has plenty of top tier wins.

Khan might get stopped by Porter, it would be a tough fight for him, but I could quite easily see him out boxing the version of Porter that Brook fought. If it had been Brook facing Porter rather than Crawford a couple of weeks ago, I imagine Brook would have been stopped too.

Brooks problem is he had all the talent and none of the dedication. Whilst this may sound like an excuse, it's a valid one - he's more at home in Greggs than at the gym. Most top fighters who are successful at world level maintain a certain lifestyle between fights. Brook does/did not, to his cost.

Yeah I think it would. Big weight lifted off him.

That porter is all wrong for Khan. Khan has never been able to fight inside and porter would have given him fits.

Lamont Peterson was another fighter who Khan could not deal with up close.

One could argue Khan has more top tier wins but the losses Khan has, Brook hasn't and wouldn't.

Kell Brook doesn't get iced by the likes of Breidis Prescott. That just wouldn't happen.

yes I sort of remember that he said one morning he could tell by just looking at Kell physique he had eat or drank something he shouldn’t have , that there surely says making 147 is a bit to much !! And Kell said in the middle of the night he got up and had some cranberry juice !

it’s at 149 but not sure how much difference that will make. Brook looked like a prisoner of war against Crawford. He’s not a 147 guy anymore and 149 is just damage limitation.

If this fight happened when it should have I’d have heavily favoured Brook. Now I am edging toward Khan because Brook seems to have lost his ability to take a punch, at least when he’s that depleted. It seems like a fight for whoever lands first. Khan seems more composed.

it’s a real bummer for Brook, no pun intended. He wanted it all those years and Khan ducked him and now Khan smells the vulnerability from a mile away. Incredible. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be so entertaining. Whoever loses will have a hard time, especially Brook considering the aforementioned circumstances.
