Duran joined a jazz band and now hosts sportsman dinners.

    Not sure about the rest

I also read this in Hands of stone, but I also read that Duran gets pretty excited when he sees hearns and gets along with him pretty well

Hagler can't stand Leonard and still hates him, it's a shame he didn't show abit more anger in the fight against Leonard. He was terrible in that fight.

I may be wrong but I don't remember "that" press conference of Leonards ever being expected to announce a Hagler-Leonard fight, just that Leonard would fight on and that Hagler was the target he would be working towards.

Having said that, Hagler was still annoyed at being dragged there just to hear that Leonard was retiring after Leonard baited Hagler and the press about about good a SRL-Hagler fight would be "but i'll never happen"

after hagler fought mugabi he went too see SRL and had a long drinking session with him where he told leonard his weaknesses that he was getting older and slower and hagler was drinking and SRL wasnt he was stringing him along.

i think a small time after that leonard said he wanted to fight hagler

Did SRL tell Hagler he too had his troubles, barely fighting in years, being a natural welterweight and also pumping a bit of coke here and there?

The difference is, JT, that it's one party manipulating the other. Not saying that's wrong or right, just pointing out the difference.

Leonard went off the rails with coke after he retired with the detached retina. My guess is that around 1983 he was in his powder prime.

I've never heard about this amicable gathering between them both. Hagler was a diciplined boxer and a 'spartan' like worker in the gym. Not too sure his 365 day a year dedication matched Hopkins' though. He probably did like a beer or a burger in moderation, unlike Bernard.
