If these were to fight you're talking about 18 months two years down the line. In the interim Froch will have fought Johnson, Ward, possibly Kessler then Bute. **** knows what he'd have left by that point - plus he's be 35. We may have seen it if Froch had got knocked out of the Super 6, but not now.
Kessler and Bute are not fights set in stone by any means , you have to take into consideration boxing politics , Johnson and Ward are up next , granted Froch may start to run out of gas pretty soon after ............ A lot would depend on what Cleverly does and achieves in that space of time , Froch may be looking to move up by then to re match Pascal or to take on some of the top 175 lb'ers in the world as most SMW's eventually do ................. If im honest i dont see it happening , i think this fight by then may fall into the low reward high risk catagory (more risk than reward is what i should of said) for Froch but you never know
It may happen at some point.Cleverly is doing well but I dont think he has the punch to deter Froch from walking in applying pressure.Id say Froch by late stoppage.
I think looking at Cleverly he may of developed into a monster by then , well rounded skills with fast and heavy hands with a big heart and strong engine , by then he would of been in with at least 1 world champion and will be more seasoned at the top level ............ Hard to see Froch walking such a man down ................ I think Clev by then would be all wrong for Froch , the temptation of a domestic dust up and big payday may see Froch walk into such a bout though , you never know
Don't see it happening tbh, unless clev wins a title and froch beats pascal maybe. Murat was at te fight last night btw clevs defence is possible worse than frochs, froch at least takes te sting out of them, kinda rolls with them and doesn't stand in range. 7-8round stoppage for froch in the next 2 years IMO
Clev would need to work on his dig to keep Froch off him. Don't think he has what it takes yet but maybe in a couple of years with some more experience behind him he could catch Froch on the downturn.
When Clev has fought some of any note at all any where near Euro level we can start talking about him possibly causing Froch to be at all worried about a fight between the two.
To be fair Abraham did a pretty adept impression of Karo Murat last night ! I'd give Cleverly a good chance in this fight.
I remember alot of people laughing at not sure who said it..anyways people laught at him for saying the Murat-Clev fight would be similar to AA-Froch. They followed similar paths although i think Clev went to war cos he wanted to show himself and become a star on PPV. Clev vs Froch. Froch wins at this point in time. It be tight but i think Carl knows how to deal with pressure when things are tight and i think that experience and understanding would give him edge.
X 2 , I put a thread out there saying how similar will Cleverly Murat be to Abraham Froch and basically got ridiculed :good
Cleverly has knocked out or stopped 7 of his last 10 opponents , what i said was that he will develop into a fighter with fast heavy hands , if he's not already there now !!!! Im not saying i think he is or will be a " PUNCHER " im saying there is enough pop in his shots to stun or stop someone like Carl Froch , and the likes
Maybe. It's a different landscape at world level. Clev might be able to hang with them or he might not. He needs to get rid of that ****in bandana before I'll have any faith in him. :deal
I like to split boxing at the top into levels World Class - top 8 ranked fighter in the world , or a world champion , could be seen as untested at the very top example Berto Elite - Experienced world champions proven time again at the top level at multiple weights example Paul Williams , Cotto P4P Standout's - Pacquiao , Mayweather , Martinez and Marquez's of the world see above Id have Froch sitting middle of the range when it comes to ranking him as a world class fighter somewhere between world class and elite " currently " and i say that simply because of his resume and his stomach for the fight . Skill wise and pedigree , i see Cleverley not that far behind him , id currently have Cleverley sitting in the world class bracket , in 18 months time at the speed Clev is moving now i see him as more than a match for Froch @175 , who by then will be on the slide , i think its pretty clear Cleverly has what it takes to hang in there with the best fighters in the world .
