On the other hand, with only 1 HW fight under his belt, he's got the current HW top guy talking about him and including him in a list of future challengers. I think his needling is getting him somewhere.
I agree, the only time people seem to get under Wlad's skin is when they have the audacity to throw punches at him in the ring.
Christ Dan, it was a dead cert that Haye would start getting stick off some of the fishwives around here eventually.
People are odd, besides not having a fight at heavy sooner I don't see what more he could have done in his career. Can you?:?
Not at this point, I think it would have been a better idea to have faced a lesser HW eariler, say around now and stepped up again in November but as long as the November opponent is genuine world class and the ring rust isn't a factor then theres no harm done doing Hayes way.
aah maybe I was being a little disrespectful when you word it that way. I have to hand it to Haye, hes went onto have a fine career since the shock loss to Thompson. & heres me saying something positive, based on Wlads last performance I would pick haye to beat him! Now you dont get any bigger positive comment than that, do you? It just annoyed me that Haye hassled big Wlad in England, but when it came to acting the big man in Wlads territory Haye did a disappearing act Houdini would have been proud off. As for apologizing for the Arthur bit? Dont worry about it. Im so used to arguing on ESB its water off a ducks back & I never bear grudges(except when I do ) Its certainly a sickener that its Cook now, dont get me wrong its a good domestic matchup, but with all due respect to Cook hes no great & never will be. Arthur had his chance to fight a top P4P fighter, & instead IMO was happier to wait it out & collect the title due to some Warren shenanegans... & Im still pissed off. However, when this fight happens you can be sure all will be forgiven as I cheer the edinburger onto victory:good Anyway, Im out of this thread now. I havent missed one of Bunces boxing hours, always discuss it & the big fella hasnt even as much as said hello to me! So I aint hanging around his threads no longer, im officially 'in the huff':bart Until the next time Fluxy:good
But thats the game that Haye is playing. He wants to be talked about, whether that is positive or negative and he is succeeding.
It's Haye all over the place. Nobody cares about Ruiz, Valuev, Chagaev, Toney, Rahman, Sykes, Povetkin, Barratt. It's all Haye. What is there not to like...do people want him to spend five years bashing up losers like Thompson or six years losing his way like just about every single American heavyweight since Bowe and Holyfield? I say let him go now. Bish, bosh and bang. If he wins great. If he loses...well, he comes back. If he was an American most people on sites would be raving. Most of the people on websites and, sadly, in too many magazines start sweating with joy if an American over six foot and over 15 stone manages to tie his poxy shoe laces! Think about next summer and what will he have? We all need Haye to hit a succession of septics on the chops. It's that simple. Adios.
I've got a bit of a twitchy feeling about Haye, and it is worrying me. Didn't he say not long ago that he wants out of boxing sooner rather than later? What better way to ensure a retirement fund than chase around after the HW champ and tell him to his face what he is and isn't going to do. The more it goes on the more polarised opinion becomes, and fan polarisation is what makes big paydays. I sincerely hope that David is serious about wanting to take the HW division by storm and is not just after one very large payday whatever the result.
Haye will be on Buncey's Hour on Thursday 17th on Setanta News from 1pm and then repeated on Setanta One at 7pm, Setanta Two at 11:30 pm and again on Setanta One on Friday at 5pm. Also Herbie Hide is back, Danny Williams, Frank Maloney, John Murray, boxing author George Kimball and Alan Lacey of the Real Fight Club. Adios.
