as a pacquiao fan, i don't care if pac would lose as long as this fight would happen. from the start, pacquiao was supposed to lose to floyd, naturally smaller and has the styles disadvantage. pac has surpassed almost everyone's expectations even his most bitter haters.

even a pacquiao close loss (SD for example to floyd) would be a moral victory for me because of the inherent advantages floyd has over pacquiao.

    It's as simple as this:

    1. Mayweather and Pacquiao are both great fighters-the greatest of this generation along with hopkins

    2. If and when Mayweather beats Pac, he deserves all the credit in the world. he just beat someone whom very few or maybe none of the welterweights and superwelterweights today could beat.

    3. Same goes for Pacquiao, should he beat Mayweather he deserves all the credit for having accomplished what he has done and beat Mayweather on top of that. he also deserves his top 10 atg ranking

At a point before Pacquiao established he could destroy welterweights and now a juniormiddleweight Margarito, there might have been a moral victory in Pacquiao just keeping it somewhat competitive vs Mayweather.

.....that is'nt the case anymore. As Freddie Roach has indicated when JMM is mentioned, Pacquiao's a welterweight, and he fights at welterweight from here on out.

Pacquiao's a welterweight, and when he gets his arse handed to him at welterweight, there is no moral victory in it!:deal

don't let pacquiao making his fight at welter fool you into thinking that he is as big as these guys like mosley, cotto and floyd. pac is still naturally smaller, weighs around 144 during weigh-in and fights around 148 at fight night. floyd would be fighting around 154 pounds in his current build so floyd still has the size advantage and never mind the style's advantage that floyd has so pacquiao keeping it close even in a losing cause would still give pacquiao legacy boost just like jmm drawing and losing a SD to pacquiao was still his biggest accomplishments to date much more than any of his victory. :deal

:good except for the fact that he is a welter, roach said marquez-pac 3 would only happen at 147. If pac thought he wasnt a welter he wouldnt be fighting in the welter division

:good except for the fact he weighs in unofficially at 148 on fight night, while all the other welters are well over 150.

Pac is my favorite fighter, and if the man loses to Mayweather then I'll give Mayweather his dues. He'd have fought and beat the top fighter in the world currently (manny Pac) while he was on top of his game!
I don't think many people whole heartedly beleive Pac demolishes Mayweather with ease, but I say 50/50. Mayweather just needs to fight him. It's not going to be the end of the my world if Pac loses...I just hope he doesn't lose before getting to fight Mayweather cuz Mayweather will use that as a reason to duck Pac even more.

The fact is that Pacquiao has been destroying Welters who weigh more than Mayweather.....Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito.......

.....that makes Pacquiao an established Welterweight.
Meaning he's proven he can beat much bigger welterweight than Mayweather.

......there go, when Mayweather takes Pacquiao to school, there is no such excuse card as "Mayweather is bigger than him" that can be brought out.

......when Mayweather takes Pacquiao to school, its either Mayweather is the better fighter or Pacquiao is the better fighter.
......both fighters here have established being sucessful fighting at 147 lbs.

The fact that you're even bringing out the moral victory card before this fight is even off the ground goes to show that you dont believe Pacquiao belongs in the same ring as Mayweather.

Pacquiao would have a hard enough time trying to beat Marquez at any weight, much less trying to beat an establshed 147 lbs boxing maestro like Floyd!:deal

even if pac was a true natural welter ( which i dont think he is ), it still doesnt change the fact that this skinny malnourished kid that started out as flyweight is now stomping through le creme of the welters. even without a win over floyd, he is still doing amazing things. beating floyd would just leave absolutely no doubt, even in the minds of his harshest critics, that he is one of the greatest ever to step foot in a ring.
if floyd were to beat pac, he deserves all the credit in the world. it doesnt matter to floyds legacy that pac is smaller. if there was a bigger guy who was laying waste to the best of the welters, then thats who floyd should be fighting... but there isnt. floyd would be proving that hes better than the monster that everyone is saying is eating up his division.
no excuses, the winner is the better fighter.
