Nice picks. Mine in no order would be, and it changes every day. Salsanchezfan it's good to see you back. Alexis Arguello vs Aaron Pryor I Bobby Chacon vs Rafeal Limon IV Jung Koo Chang vs Hideyuki Ohashi II Luis Manuel Rodriguez vs Joey Giambra Ray Robinson vs Jake Lamotta VI Mathew Saad Muhammed vs Yacqui Lopez II Eder Jofre vs Fighting Harada I Marco Antonio Barrera vs Erik Morales I Emile Griffith vs Luis Manuel Rodriguez III Ezzard Charles vs Lloyd Marshall II I have to mention Gilberto Roman vs Santos Lacier II
that's the best fight I ever saw also (limon-Cha.4) also limon-navaratte, Fletcher-singletary, Fletcher-green, Fletcher-nesmith, Duran-leo.1, Duran-moore, Cuevas-ranzany, Briscoe-Guitierres, Franklin-Douglas (I was at these last 2 and the Fletcher and moore fights and Briscoe guitierres and Franklin-Douglas were UNBELIEVEABLE),Pintor Gomez, Mancini-kim (great ****in' fight) and Smokin' Joe Frazier vs. Jerry Quarry and Manuel Ramos.
I like to do these off the top of my head and heart. The first two were great events and had special meaning because my dad took me to closed circuit venues to see them: 1.) Leonard - Hearns 2.) Leonard - Hagler 3.) Sanchez - Gomez 4.) Sanchez - Lopez I 5.) Sanchez - Lopez II 6.) Holmes - Norton 7.) Hagler - Hearns 8.) Saad Muhammad - Lopez II 9 Pryor - Arguello I (this would be #1 had Arguello pulled it out, as is, it's a tainted fight) 10.) Ali - Foreman
Pete, obviosuly Foster has been outed as a bum hunchback by irtrymariti so the performance is now irrelevant by Frazier, making it not a very good fight.
Is petie squirting about my list? Yeah, it'll be different now than it was last time. That's what comes of actually watching a lot of boxing I guess...I bet 2/3 of those fights wouldn't have been on my list last time round. Top 3, that'll be it.
I was a big Leonard fan. My dad actually drove me an hour away to see Leonard - Hearns on the big screen. He bought a ticket for me but not for himself. He was a people person and talked his way in to see the main event.........then for Leonard - Hagler he talked to one of the ushers and got us in the first row right in front of the big screen........All those guys were fighters though. I don't think we hated anybody. Huge respect for all of them. They got paid by fighting the best. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
1. Arguello Vs Escalera I (but 2 is nice also) 2. Sanchez vs Nelson 3. Fullmer vs Turner II 4. Armstrong Vs Ross 5. Laguna vs Buchanan I 6. Chacon vs Limon IV 7. Eubank vs Benn I 8. Lopez vs Lockridge I 9. Pryor vs Arguello I 10 Saldivar vs Laguna
Im surprised im the only one who has mentioned Nigel Benn-Gerald McCellan . Horrible tragedy but awesome action and definitely in my top 5.
Too much to name. I'll just add Rosario-Chavez & Eubank-Watson 1(2 was good also except what happened at the end). I might add more from time to time.
