I like Houston myself, plus Buncey and McIlvaney. Colin Harts ****. I mean the man talks sense from time to time, but what bothers me about him is he either likes a fighter or he doesn't. No middle ground with him. He's too negative. ps. No way Gilfoid is British and moved to Texas. He must of been scarred bad by something over here, he ****ing hates everything about us. He's not a journalist anyway.
Haven't read it yet. Generally, I don't have to agree with someone to think they're a good writer. If I can understand their viewpoint and feel it's rational at least. Thomas Hauser is a gifted technical writer, but overly formal IMO, with some clear bias towards and against particular individuals/agencies... Generally I don't enjoy his stuff for that reason. He's a good judge of fights usually and he's quick to admit when he gets it wrong. Some of his features are a little odd though and he's not a great interviewer. But he loves the fight game and he understands the technical aspects better than many. I find he breaks them down in a very simple way - reading his stuff on his Fightwriter site helped me to learn a lot about why a guy wins a fight in the ring even when he looks like he won't on paper.
